Re: Were is the best place to mount spotlights ?

Thank you all for your advice guys . I have gone with the roof option for now ,but I have made it a ezy bolt on/off style so I can change it any time . Handy if I need to put longer items on the roof racks . I placed it far enough back so it wont light up my bonnet . https://lh6.googleusercontent ...

Re: Winch advice

I had the same idea for my surf and spent weeks researching pros and cons Pro* can rear mount if needed , can take of for security and less weight during the week Con* weak power connections , weaker mounting relying on 1 locking pin to hold , they tend to stick out giving little impact protection ...

Re: Thompsons track area

also one part of the track is very narrow with a shear drop on the side and the bigger trucks will have an interesting time getting through that part, so long as not more has fallen away that is. Yea that part gives me the shits when I got the family along. Could be a tradegy wating to happen one ...

Re: Managing tracks, not tyre size. by Peter Vahry

Another land owner who hosted us once was gobsmacked. He regularly hosted another club that, in his own words, drove in convoy to a ridge, drank tea and ate cucumber sandwiches, and tootled off again. After having us there and showing him the dark side he now hosts 4x4ers constantly, has built a ...

Re: ANOTHER hunting trip goes bad!!

If someone is killed by a drunk driver we blame the driver . no one blames the car. no one questions why the driver was given a licence . no one asked his friends and family if he is of sound mind or a alcoholic. we dont make drives resit every 10 years The point im getting at is lets put the blame ...

Re: Thompsons track reopen

Te Aroha side is a nice ezy drive . I left it in 2wd all the way up to keep it interesting (except for the playgrounds off the main track) . That slip half way up gives me the shits tho cos I offten take my family when I go up there . Good place to picknick up there

Re: Whakamaramara

there is a no entry sign on the Lund road side of the pines but didnt bother driving in to see if they had gated it. Its a real shame that Whaka is gone it was close enough that we could just chuck a cpl bux in the tank and go for a play any time . good for testing mods

Yer mate it is I went last night after work and there is a large concrete barrer like they use for road works blocking the entrance. There is also a large excavator on the big grassy corner just before u get there. My guess is closed for repair.

Re: Whakamaramara

I went up there last night and the track is blocked of with a large wall at the start but no sign explaining why. Also there is now a no trespassing sign at the entrance to the pines now. Is there any other tracks around our area ? Also the southern side of Tompsons is blocked by a large slip half ...
