Anyone removed complete erg on this model surf? Any engine fault codes come up? Had some smoke issue and blocking the vacuum pipe stops that but thinking of removing whole thing. Also getting a High pitched humming once warmed up more noticeable at low speeds and thinking its probably a vacuum leak ...

Its not a sports car, I have had two Surfs in the past with all the mods, this is just a little work hack. It just seems a little unstable at 100 so was thinking a slightly wider track may help.

Manawatu. They are factory 16inch rims 215/65/16 tyres. Seen a few with them on seems its around the 97 model that they changed.

My Escudo is a 97 SWB 1.6 with Factory 16inch wheels, I would like a little bit more stability for on road use and as the tyres will soon need replacing wondering what would be a good solution? I have just installed a boost gauge. Max it runs is just over 9. Is it worth the effort to put the boost tap in and take up to just under 14? With the 3inch exhaust and DP chip I am thinking and extra 4lb of boost may make a difference.

Yep I agree, another thing on my list. It does run cooler with the larger exhaust and dump pipe and is intercooled which also helps.

I havent checked to be honest, something else I could have a look at as there is probably a couple of pounds there to be had. Anyone up the boost and what effect did it have?Is it worth worrying about

I cant remeber to be honest is there standard 50mm spring and suspension lift. Front only does about 35mm hence the spacers. These are the same as the Prado as the 185 surf has the same chassis. I think the Prado is slightly heavier although I find mine ok and I only really do shiny school ...

Autolign I got the shocks and springs from them as well. Keeps it sitting even. Dont think they cost much from memory. I must say I added a 3inch exhaust and dump pipe and that has made a significant difference to performance as well.

Have had the Raw in for a fair while now. This kit is for the prado as well. I fitted 15mm coil spaces on front as well to get 50mm lift all round. Handles well

Hi there can anyone tell me if the steel rear bumper is 3 piece. I have a dent on the left side and I see a guy selling ends on trade me. Might be easier than knocking out

Well i got some 16x8 rims and 265/75/16 Kumho kl71 tyres,however have clearance issues on front tyres. I havent driven anywhere as they would chew out the tyre if i turned. Anyone running the same on a KZN185 Surf. I am doing a 2inch lift shortly so hoping this will help

What offset is sensible on the 16x8 rims?
