LVVTA cert hydraulic handbrake or manual line lockers?
Hi all, a question regarding handbrakes on road registered 4 wheel drive vehicles - building a new truck at the moment, will go through cert for beadlocks and other bits, but what I would like to do is have either a hydraulic operated handbrake (still a locking type one for parking), or install ...

15" 36 bolt beadlocks WTB
After some f#cktard stole my truck, I've been slowly getting bits to rebuild a new one... needing some road legal beadlocks now. Anyone have any 15x8" -19 or so beadlocks for sale? Must be 36 bolt so I can cert them. And if you have a set with Simexes or Silvies on with tubes and dump valves, even ...

Went to go buy a shiny new ARB RD110 and it's 8 weeks ex Aus. Because they aren't clever enough to figure out we have planes now. ARB will only ship via boat

Re: Hilux front diff modified for Pajero L200 L300 Delica Triton
Would need shocks, steering links and a set of axles, longfields be the go!! Then fab up some spring/shock towers. The steering arms are there just need the connecting links. Driveshaft and that be it pretty much! If you want any other photos let me know. Sorry for late reply didn't get a ...

Hilux front diff modified for Pajero L200 L300 Delica Triton
Have a solid axle Hilux diff which has had the pumpkin flipped and balls rotated to suit a mitsi 4x4. Way cheaper to get bits for than Dana axles!! Comes with everything in the photo - i was going to get a set of Longfields so it doesnt have axles but everything else is there including the rear ...

Re: 1kz-te using water........
Hey guys, As kbushnz says find the actual cause first. Do a cooling system pressure test, and a TK style combustion gas test to identify what is actually happening first. I've also seen the genuine waterpumps on 1kzs leak from brand new, yet the aftermarket repco ones are perfect... If you do ...

Re: New KZN185 1KZ
Oh and the increase temperatures thing is a load of bs. The 1kz runs a hot egr system which doesn't run at WOT (wide open throttle) anyway so no it doesn't heat your engine or cylinder head up.

Re: New KZN185 1KZ
If you are ditching the egr, reroute the rocker breather into a catch can as well. Many also remove the butterfly from the inlet manifold at the same time. If yours is intercooled take this opportunity to take the intercooler off and leave it soaking in degreaser overnight. You will already be doing ...

JASO DH-1 & GLOBAL DHD-1 are equivalent ratings. Shell rimula, penrite fx, total rubia etc all meet both these standards. Penrite is available at ripco, its mid ash and all the blah.

Re: 1KZ-te grit and smallish pebbles in oil?? Oil thread...
Unburnt diesel (or pocket burnt) produces carbon in any diesel, common rail or otherwise. The carbon then bypasses the rings and ends up in the oil. Normally get around 250ks out of a set of injectors so will be nearly due in yours. It only takes an off spray pattern from a worn tip to produce ...

Re: 1KZ-te grit and smallish pebbles in oil?? Oil thread...
Carbon buildup in the oil can be from a leaking injector, good idea to pull the sump and check out your pickup screen for blockages. To recon a set of injectors is under $400 for a 1kz. Oil wise I have tested many of the oils available with a Timken test machine and found Total Rubia 7400 to take ...

Re: Hiace Super Custom 4x4 project
Check the build plate under the seat in the hiace for the axle code. If it's a G series then you can get an lsd from a surf or hilux to fit. Highly doubtful the Mitsi lsd will come close to fitting. I put a tightly shimmed lsd in my 2wd 3.0DT hiace lwb...made roundabouts fun in the wet when it was ...

Td42, needs to be capable of 30 psi if we go u there, aim is around 20 ish currently don't waste your $$ with electric controller. ball and spring one will do the job. might have to tweak the spring a bit for high boost. m works well but theres plenty of others. +1 diesels love air and aren't going ...

Hey Zed. Looks like it's you've got the homework done on which products are good. I've been out of the industry for a few years now so I won't offer an opinion on which particular brands/ products on the market currently are considered the best. Just two things you may want to consider that I don't ...

Best advice when new to all this is never go alone. There's plenty of people near odlins who can help you go for a drive, or even the maungatuks area for some boghole plays. I would definitely recommend joining a club - welly cc if you live in town or others out towards kapiti hills (Tararua or ...

Re: Advice needed rustproofing/undersealing
most important thing to do is to remove the rust that is there mate, what is a little spot today is a big hole tomorrow putting $100+ a litre por15 over the top of paint is a waste of money por15 has to adhere directly to metal and you have to apply all their rust converter prep before hand POR-15 ...
