Re: more power from a 300tdi landrover discovery
Nice. This looks very useful. It's a bit technical on first read, but I'm sure with slow and steady working I'll give this a go and report back any improvements.
Thanks for the post!

more power from a 300tdi landrover discovery
Hi all, I've been (finally) doing a little more work on the old girl to get her ready for a big return to the bush! Last weekend I had a tail-light problem and ended up replacing them. The bloke I bought them from suggested I try flushing the intercooler to get some minor power gains. She was also ...

Re: Auckland area
Yeah, thanks for the info. Is murawai just beach driving or are there some good tracks to enjoy? I like the look of Waiuku Forest. Is it possible just to drive out there and find some tracks or do you need to obtain clearance/keys/be on a club run?
Reckon I'll join a club also. Cheers.

Auckland area
Sorry if this is a topic that's done to death. I've had a good look through the forum for ideas of where to wheel around Auckland and haven't found much. I've just moved over from Aussie and not very familiar with where to go. I've done Woodhill Jeep Park a few times now and wondered if there was ...

Re: Project 1996 Disco 300tdi

Also need to adjust the lower steering arms as they rub on full lock. Haven't had the chance to get it orf ...

OK so went for a set of 235/85/16 nankang mud stars (couldn't resist $190 a tyre fitted and balanced)! Now about to attempt the camel cut to eliminate the rubbing. Do you have any pics of yours being done? Cheers.

Well, I'm very happy to report I got the Nankang's for $190 a tyre (didn't want the rims)! Bargain. He says he would be able to get more in if others are interested. He also has a set of rims sitting there nice new white steelies and probably take $50-60 each for them. Good price, good service, bit ...

Yeah, saw these but not sure about Nangkang? Has anyone had experience with them? I hear they are pretty much identical to buckshot mudder's and handle like crap on the road?

Project 1996 Disco 300tdi
Hi guys, The tyres on the stock 96 disco are just about done so its time to start thinking about the build. I'm on a very tight budget too but should be able to do most of the work myself. Here's what I'm thinking: 1. tyres/suspension Upgrade to 235/85/16 with the factory rims. I need a tyre that is ...

Re: disco mods and cheap tyres
Thanks Anti, how do you find the performance from the 300tdi pushing simex's? As I use her as my daily, I don't want to go too extreme, but enough to open a few eyes out on the tracks! and enough to get me 90% of places out there. I haven't encountered heaps of mud yet, mostly soft/wet sandy hills ...

Re: disco mods and cheap tyres
Hi mate, I have a 1996 Disco (my first from a long line of 40 series cruisers) and am about to undertake a bit of a tyre upgrade. I have a couple questions for you. 1. 235/85/16 tyres fit ok without any lift? 2. was thinking 285/75/16 but figure I'd have to lift for these. Any advice around ...

Re: lifts laws to be inforced
Hi guys, I'm looking at buying this m I'm an Aussie wheeler just moved over and want to know what sort of headaches I'm in for. Nothing has been certed on this car but he has a fresh warrant - so I'm thinking he either has a dodgy warrant or this vehicle makes it under the laws? Also, any advice on ...
