Remove any loose rust etc, liberaly apply any rust kill/converter, then paint with a hard wearing paint.

Not to sure on good places, but I do no from past experience to stay away from the AA service centre place in Henderson, shocking service and extremely expensive.

I would personaly spend a little bit more and go with a Runva, but from what Ive heard they are ok for the price.

Yeah I find the same thing with my pajero aswell, it drops off full real quick then seems to slow down over the middle of the tank.

For your budget there would be plenty of pajeros around Id say. Handle reasonably well off road standard, and with a couple of upgrades can go most places.

Yeah my understanding is the same as falcon, all body lifts require cert, however you are allowed a 2" suspension lift without cert.

Seriously though does anyone have any reccomendations on a replacement engine for the 6g72, would the modern ones bolt straight into my old 89 swb pajero? Or would a more modern diesel pajero engine be a possibility? It currently has the 6g72 in it but I feel its not overly healthy.

Nothing wrong with a Pajero mate, they are quite capable trucks. Afew mods to it and it should go pretty much anywhere.
