Re: Project WHOOPS Pajero
You can do the same procedure with the frame 'horns' to mount the new front bar (if it is a factory bought one)

Re: Project WHOOPS Pajero
Unbolt the front bumper and move it up-you will see where it binds a bit with bracketry. Modify and remount and then clamp and electric glue the mounts (tack weld only). Dissasemble and clean and weld-grind and finish and paint. I have done lots of body lifts-but as you probably have found, 40mm is ...

Be carefull out there....
I see the tradgedy today re the fire-arms instructor and ex president of the mountain safety council (please correct me if I am wrong). No doubt the anti fire arms lobby will have a field day with this. So how is this relevant? What will happen when some one gets killed (its nearly happened) when 4 ...

Re: Thompsons track area
There was a big debate about this years ago when a member had a video showing them driving through a creek beside a ford in Pureora from memory. That is one of the main reasons I didn't renew my membership of the Nelson 4X4 club because they are supporting the NZWDA after my run in with the said ...

Re: lifts laws to be inforced
Cheers Muzza. I'm on the fence on this one, as I don't intend to run bigger than 33's myself, and can see where the arguements from both sides are coming from. Many years ago I thought big tyres were going to do less damage. A mate had a Unimog and could drive it anywhere-but didn,t drive ruts as ...

Dave. This is the maximum size we allowed on our Tag Alongs, it is also a guide used by other similar businesses..This, and other require ments were WHAT THE LAND OWNERS wanted. Before I sold my tourist business we ran the same size as the Farmers/runholders and DOC on the properties. We instructed ...

Re: Max Tyre size
So Farmers and other land owners are going to be dictated to by the minority? LOL.... No, They have the right to let in or keep out who ever they see fit. As did the farmer in your example. I know of several land owners who are more than happy to let people they know and trust take their 'large ...

So Farmers and other land owners are going to be dictated to by the minority? LOL.... I know of one very peed off run holder that had to abondon his ute after he let a bunch of clowns on his property. They ripped the be geezers out of an uphill in a gully that was essential for access. Had to get a ...

Max Tyre size
There is a 'rumour' going 'round' that 4x4s will be limited to 33 inch max tyres (measured horizontally at axle) for heavy trucks, 32 inch -medium, and 31 for light, for access to rural properties and 'other' Tax payer land in the South Island....Oh dear...

Re: lifts laws to be inforced
What a lot of people fail to realise is that total club membership in NZ is in the majority of 4x4,s that get used off road. Of the club members(and others), the ones running large agressive tyred heavily modified trucks are still very much in the minority. I can't for the life of me see why there ...

Re: Managing tracks, not tyre size. by Peter Vahry
I fail to see how a vehicle sitting stranded on its diffs and running say 31,s or 33,s can do track damage when the reason its sitting on the diffs with the wheels not making contact is because of the tools that have already done the damage and moved on..... What about Farmers vehicles, DOC vehicles ...
