3L throttle stuck open?
Hi all, Bit of a curly one. Fired up my LN106 with 3L for the first time in 5 years and its running like the throttle is stuck open. Fresh diesel and diesel filter, correct amount of oil. Air filter attached. You can manipulate the throttle arm on the injector pump and it does nothing, just revvs ...

Re: LN106 hi-steer
Mounted this up. http://iforce.co.nz/i/jysng4jw.lfb.jpg Hope my welds are good enough to pass a cert... They're ugly but strong. Inside plate is the worst. Also, looking at my front leaves, does this look shagged to anyone? Need reset or replaced perhaps? its RUF http://iforce.co.nz/i/3prmx1yy.zes ...

LN106 hi-steer
Hi all. I recently got a hi-steer kit off Tim, looked at fitting it last night.
Assume I've gotta cut off the old torque rod mount completely?
When I fit the steering box mount, can any of the existing holes in the chassis be used?
Cheers for any help

Re: LN106 Project
Yeah I've had springs reset by them before. Not sure if I wanna go higher than it already is. Also thanks for the link, they seem cheaper than brown and cope. I'm just planning on getting the truck useable again, starting from the diffs up. I've got a ton of other car projects on the go at the ...

Re: LN106 Project
Finally started working on this again. Got some new 35x12.5x15 federal couragias and put the LSD in the front. Whats the story with getting leaves reset? My RUF leaves seem to sit very flat. Would it be a good idea to get them reset with more of a curve and decrease the shackle length to keep the ...

Re: LN106 diff questions
Thanks for the link. Yes I meant slotting the LN106 crown and pinion into the 6cyl diff housing. Not sure what ratio the cyl stuff is but my 106 diffs are obviously both the same.

Re: LN106 diff questions
Thanks for the advice. Yeah I've built diffs before, not that I enjoy doing it. Never a hilux unit though. From what you guys have said I think I'll rebuild the 4 pinion carrier (non LSD) with new bearings and an auto locker and slot it in the rear, then throw the rear LSD up front. Are the crowns ...

LN106 diff questions
Hey guys, just typed a bit of a novel and seems it didn't post so apologys if this turns up twice. I'm still pretty new to 4wds so any advice is appreciated. I have an LN106 and I'm starting from the ground up. It has an LSD in the rear and RUF, longer shackles etc etc but done very roughly. I also ...

Re: LN106 Project
Got some time tonight so finished front leaf crossmember and welded it in. Ran out of argo and had to finish it with Co2 but should be tough enough. added some triangle gussets on the front and back. http://imageshack.us/a/img836/7571/p1040102l.th.jpg Also got diff back together with new bearings ...

Re: LN106 Project
Yeah I was thinking of running some 50x5 strap to the original chassis rail bolt holes with a triangle gusset to the crossmember Enjoying the fabrication side of 4wd work, I'm only really used to working with panel steel and the occasional engine crossmember. Next I'll finish the leaf perch on the ...

Re: LN106 Project
You got me paranoid so I just went and double checked. Have around an inch of clearance from the bottom of the radiator to the bottom of the original front crossmember with the holes in it. Should be plenty? the radiator bung tap will stick out behind new crossmember too. I'm not sure if the ...

Thanks, good to know. Did this tonight. http://imageshack.us/a/img836/9839/p1040085x.th.jpg Anyone know of a source for a leaf spring perch like these? Thanks for the advice. I'm currently fixing up someone else's mistakes on my truck so will have to measure, mix and match to make things fit. Selecting shocks
Hey guys, just wondering what the story is with picking shocks for a truck. I see places selling "1"lift, 2"lift" etc but what's the go if you're unsure of your lift and how well it flexes? Do these shocks just provide a longer body to accommodate for the lift with the same stroke? Do I need to jack ...

Hey guys, prowled around here finding info for my last truck I built (LN61 on 33"s) Just got fooled into buying a ln106 that someone's had a go at modifying. Some stuff seems to be done well but the list of badly done modifications grows every time I look at it. http://sphotos-f.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos ...
