Re: roof racks wanted
FIL's? The photo up there was from an auction, and it also had a photo of the attachment feet, they clipped into the recessed rails. NOT a clamp-on system like (I think) you're talking about. It's not just a plastic rail, there are three metal lugs running down each side, they're supposed to let a ...

Re: roof racks wanted
yeah, Hamco basically said they don't have anything to fit, and could only sell me a gutterless/railless clamp-on system.
I'm after something that actually fits the recessed rails that are already in my roof.
I know they're out there...see the pic up there! ^

roof racks wanted
I'm still after some roof racks like this: http://images.trademe.co.nz/photoserver/70/241651470_full.jpg They attach to the almost hidden rails that run down some R50 roofs. There are 3 metal lugs on each side. Give me a yell if you have got any to sell...or know where I can get them. Went to my ...

Re: Terrano suspension question
Just to wrap this up with a boring update: * my mechanic found that one of the front linkages had a worn ball-joint. No more front-end-rattle driving over Christchurch's many potholes any more. * tightened all hose clamps on the power steering pump, gave it (and engine bay) a steam clean. Have ...

Re: Terrano suspension question
yeah ok, will do. But I think the winder mechanism is built into the body of the truck? I don't think I could transfer that over (unless I was PassengerPete?!)

Re: Terrano suspension question
cheers guys, it's a 2.7 auto. I've got a slight power-steering seep so I'm getting the mechanic to look at that (he reckons steam clean the engine, drive it, and then try to identify where it's coming from), and might ask him to check all suspension arms and bits and pieces. I've got 31in A/Ts on ...

Terrano suspension question
Hey guys, Humour a noob here. My R50 has the occasional front suspension squeak and rattle when going over bumps. Not a massive issue, but I'm wondering where the noise is likely to be coming from exactly. Shocks? Should I get some new ones? I've heard the front end of the R50s isn't great. I'm not ...

Re: Hi...and a couple of questions :-)
sure your 1997 terrano is a TD27ti if its an R50 should be a QD32eti if it was 2.7 it's be a D21. And yes if your terrano is an R50 the intercooler is front mounted. yes inserting a blank plate or removing the EGR system is what we would call preventative maintance. yep, it's definitely an R50 with ...

Hi...and a couple of [Terrano] questions :-)
hi guys, been lurking on here for a while, and thought I'd better join up and pick your brains. I'm from Chch and have recently purchased an R50 Terrano (1997). It's a low ks diesel automatic in pretty good nick. It sits in the garage for most of the week so it's pretty pampered! While I know a fair ...
