Re: WTB: 1994 surf parts

For the drink holder clips, you could just bend a small piece of 2-3mm wire into an 'S' shape in the vice. Thats what I did and works fine :)

Re: Winding up front torsion bars kzn130

How do you re-index them?

I just want to level the truck out, wouldn't be doing anything to rough on them..

Winding up front torsion bars kzn130

Hi,

When winding up the torsion bars on a kzn130 surf, do you just raise the front end and wind the bolts clockwise until the desired height is reached?

Is it worth getting chunkier aftermarket torisons as well?

Thanks.

Re: 1KZ recommendations

Okay, so your main radiator is just the standard factory one? How does it go when towing or going up big hills etc?

Edit: Do you bypass the in radiator trans cooler completely?

Re: 1KZ recommendations

Thanks for the replies.

Have been reading up on other post here as well. So should I get an external alloy trans cooler and a good thermostat for my 1KZ :?: And just leave the main radiator as it is?

Re: 1KZ recommendations

Yeah, forgot to mention, its an auto The reason I'm thinking of replacing the radiator is because the mechanic said it would prevent cracking the head when towing etc. The current radiator is actually in good condition . He said replace it with an alloy rad for a manual surf, and get an external ...

Re: 1KZ recommendations

Yeah alright kjbb, settle I don't know much about 90s or surfs, so i needed to know opinions before i bought, what's wrong with that? Anyway, who told you I 'do nothing'?? I'm trying to sell my 70 so I can fund the surf now, because this is 'my' ultimate plan, it just took me a while to get there ...

1KZ recommendations

Hi. I am going to get a 94 hilux surf tomorow (hopefully) and was wondering what the best mods to give it after i buy. From the search I gather a 2.5in straight pipe exhaust system with dump pipe is a good option. (Where is a good place to get this done?). Also an aftermarket trans cooler sounds ...

Toyota Prado 90 33s?

Hi All,

Reviews of a prado 90?

Im looking at getting a 1997 Prado 90 series, lifting it and putting it on 33s.
It has a 1KZ-TE engine, manual box.

Are the prados any good? Also, what needs to be done to fit 33?

Cheers

I took the drums apart today and most things looked, operated O.K., just a bit dirty. The shoes were fine in both. I cleaned everything and lubed up moving parts etc in both drums, however the adjusting wheel didn't turn in either when i tried with the screwdriver (the adjuster inside the drum ...

Ill take the drum apart in the w.e and have a gander.

Would it worth it to just put disk brakes on the back if the drums keep crapping themselves?

Handbreak issues

In my 70 series landcruiser my handbreak isn't doing what it should. The handbreak can only hold the truck on slight inclines, but nothing more than that. When I got a w.o.f, the guys said it was at 25%. The breaks are fine, so I don't think it can be the pads? Any ideas as to what the problem could ...

I have a 70 series landcrusier and was wondering how you would replace the bushes in the shackles for a leaf sprung truck??

I suppose this is the right kit for the job: http://www.4wdbits.co.nz/ProductDetails ... ductID=589
