I got a Kiwihead cylinder head with the valves from my old head machined and fitted to my ford courier (2.5td)
Also came with new gasket and headbolts. I haven't had any problems with it at all.
It only cost me 600 bux for the bare head too

Re: Intercooler upgrades for Ford Courier
Hi, I have a 2001 courier 2.5 turbo diesel and replaced my exhaust with a 3'' system with highflo muffler from turbo back. It makes a huge difference in power/torque. I estimate approx 25% increase and I can actually overtake vehicles now. Best thing I have done to it. Cheers John Sorry to be rude ...

Re: Intercooler upgrades for Ford Courier
Hey kiwiginga, if its lacking power start with the basics. : Ditch the EGR : Open up the airways ( intake & exhaust ) : Check the valve clearances : Maybe get the injectors checked? : More boost? ( not sure whats safe with the WLT ) : Keep it above 2000 rpm these motors don't like to lug Cheers Dan ...

Re: Intercooler upgrades for Ford Courier
Ok. A ford ranger would be nice but it is a wee bit out of my price range for now . Im not going to change to a hilux because i don't think it would be much better (in my opinion anyway). But yea, i suppose I have to live with it the way it is, after all, it is a work hack to cart my dirt bike ...

Re: Intercooler upgrades for Ford Courier
probably the best idea for the courier and if funds allow is to employ a water to air intercooler where a second radiator circulates water to the cooler mounted between the turbo and the intake manifold. To my understanding, Subaru did have a system like that in their earlier Legacies. I wonder if ...

Intercooler upgrades for Ford Courier
Im a bit of a rookie for when it comes to intercoolers but is it worth changing the one i've got to a bigger one? I find my ute a wee bit sluggish going up the hills even with the pump wound 1/8th of a turn. Are they worth getting or is it just the looks? My ute is a 2001 Ford Courier (2.5TD) Cheers ...

Reviving and old thread but I ended up getting a set of 31" Kumho KL78's. So far after about 20,000km they seem to be lasting well. They handle extremely well on and off road and are QUIET!
Will post how many kms i got out of them when they won't be warrentable

High roof canopy off an 01 Courier
Since I've got a new toy to put on the back of my ute (bike), I now have no use for this canopy. I know they are worth $200-300 second hand but I could go lower depending on your location. Re: Ford Courier/Mazda Bounty 4x4 known faults?
Right, here's my theory. I replaced my radiator with an aftermarket one with bigger tubes because the old one was literally getting stuffed (the side brackets were widening). Could this be a reason why these crack heads?
Stuffed Radiator = Overheating engine = Cracked Head?
Just a thought

I'm after a cheap gun safe (rifle case) and i currently live in Invercargill. Needing something enough to be a legal case so I can get my firearms licence.

Anyone ever fitted a glow plug timer before?
Right so i bought a glow plug timer from a repco special for $70 intending on putting it on my ford courier. Trouble is, what wires do i connect? Are there a couple of wires behind the Ignition system. I do know how to connect to the Glow plug relay but I'm just having trouble with the whole ...

Re: Mazda WL-T using coolant
Does it steam excessively in the morning from the tail pipe? How old is the radiator cap? is it still holding the correct pressure? Mazda WL-T using coolant
Since 2 weeks ago, my wagon (ford courier 4x4) started using coolant (probably about 1-1.5L a week), cant seem to see any leaks anywhere. I've given the radiator a pressure test a a flush but no leakage. Where else could the coolant be going. I know these things are good for cracking cylinder heads ...

Re: Are Lift Kits really worth it???
lift kits are only as good as the axle's under them. A good locking or tight LSD in the rear and one in the front if the budget allows will propel you through bogs just as much if not more. And with a IFS setup your only going to stress the front axles more. I think the LSD's in the back diffs in ...

Thanks heaps for the input guys. Ill probably get a suspension lift kit at some point. Probably when my shackle pins are getting worn. Ill get a snorkel first though, nothing worse than driving into a puddle and realizing that it's too deep haha.

After owning my Courier for over a year (no problems, really good to drive), I've been getting criticism after 4wding with a bunch of mates that my truck isn't high enough. (I've been probably getting through as much mud and terrain as any of the other 4wd's) I contemplated getting one of those lift ...

After owning my Ford Courier for about 6 months (newbie to 4WD's), my next WOF in November will require a set of new shoes. I'm aware that I'll be spending upwards of $1000 for a set of 4. I was considering M/T tyres however I don't do enough 4WD in the middle of winter, (where there is no shortage ...

Ford Courier/Mazda Bounty 4x4 known faults?
I'm new to this forum and after owning a honda vtec for a while, i thought it was a time for a change. I've had a look at nice utes online and Couriers/Bounty's seem to take my interest the most. I am aware of the gearbox problems these trucks face and the radiators clogging up. Is there anything ...
