Pto winch setup
My PTO unit on the side of my gq gearbox only had sealer between it and the gearbox. Should it have a gasket or not?

Safari seats
Hi
Has anybody out there replaced their gq front seats for something different with a bit more support. I don't won't a full on race seat but a bucket that will drop in with not too much trouble.
I have a swb so won't a seat that flicks forward so passengers can get in the back.

I got mine from a conveyor belting place in East Tamaki, I think Greenmount Drive. It was an off cut, cost me about $20.00 a few years ago.

doddzee wrote:$200 is about right, I have a gearbox and transfer for sale $550.
Hey Doddzee, if you don't sell that gearbox soon I might be keen, I am pulling mine out to do bearings but if it is too expensive to do might be better if I bought a good second hand one.

Does anybody know where I could get a cheap 3 inch exhaust made up for the Saf in Auckland or should I buy some bends and do it myself?

Hi CD I rotated the end plate so that the filler plug was near the top, remove filler plug and replace with hose connection and run hose to bottom of reservoir. Remove breather and replace it with a fitting and run hose from breather to top or half way up reservoir. The oil won't necessary circulate ...

Re: Have you got a hot 12v compressor?
I have one for pumping up my tyres, it gets really hot at the fitting and even the air hose close to the compressor gets really hot. When mine is hot I leave it out of its bag afterwards and away from everything else till it cools down.

Hi Ant I have a shorty with a guard chop, it has a 2 inch long wheel base lift in the back which pops it up to about a 3 cause the shorty has less weight over the rear than the LWB. I cut the guards with a very thin cutting wheel on an angle grinder then made cardboard templates for the holes. Use ...

GQ manual gearbox bearings
Hi Folks The bearings in my Saf's manual gearbox have been noisy for a while now so it is time to replace them, hopefully when I pull it down there will be no shaft ware. I put one piece windows into the back of my SW Safari, my local glass guy in Howick got some glass(must be same standard as that removed to meet wof regs) cut to the right size for me, I did however give him a template to cut them too. Made the template out of old core flute plastic signage material ...
