For those of my generation who do not use and cannot comprehend why Facebook exists: I am trying to make friends outside of Facebook while applying the same principles. Therefore, every day I walk down the street and tell passersby what I have eaten, how I feel at the moment, what I have done the ...
The big attraction to facebook is everything is instant and contacting people is a breeze. Being a member of numerous 4x4 clubs I can see when trips are coming up from numerous posts all on one page without having to search. If I want to join a trip I can instant message the person running it and ...
Your in/near Palmy right? Go talk to Walter at Diesel Progress on McGiffert St about reconning your originals, very experienced guy and pretty reasonable prices, just be patient he comes across abit grumpy-you'll see what I mean Sweet I will go see him when I am in there on Wednesday. Could be an ...
If you want to do it on the cheap Izusu UB69 front shocks and rear springs fit and are longer than the terrano ones. I used them along with monroe airshocks. The izusu rear springs give an immediate 30mm lift in the rear straight away then just wind the torsion bars up.
Did abit more painting under the truck. took the diesel filter setup out so I could get the filter changed, it had been in there that long it was seized stuck. Spent the rest of the day trying to figure out a surging problem.
Are all injectors for the 4m40s the same? Ive been searching for new and recon injectors and everything is listed for Pajero, Delica etc but none say challenger.
Give these guys a ring if you havnt already. they are the best Mitzi wreckers around. If they dont have it they will know what or how to go around it. http://www.totalcommercials.co.nz/about-us/
Wayne says ,check the nylon pipes ,has leaked there before, drain the oil out of the rear to see if water in there ,shouldn't be but check. Found the leak it was the way I had tried to block the connection from the front locker. Drained the oil out of the rear and it still looked good almost still ...
Jack up the rear wheels and engage locker. While turning one wheel by hand: If both wheels spin same way = locked, opposite ways = unlocked. Compressor starting often indicates there's an air leak somewhere in the system. Sweet I will try that in the morning. I thought it may have been an air leak ...
it was totally screwed and beyond repair. The diff was full of water and sludge and shagged as well so will have to run standard diff until I can find $1800 for a new one which wont be for awhile. Is there anyway to tell if the rear one is locking like a noise in the diff ? and should the compresser ...
Cleaning up garage after throwing my toys then fitting standard diff into challenger seeing as my locker was rooted. Then all going well respray the underside of the truck then hopefully just wheel aligment left to do.

Sounds like an arse to get sorted. I have looked at so many trucks that were good on trade me and crap in person due to lack of servicing- and thats stockers. I have also sold 3 vehicle sight unseen with no issues. Dunno why people do it. You never know who you may have tucked, could be more ...
Out if interest where did you end up with this re the sus WOF and who paid? At this point I Have paid out but just awaiting the vehicle licencing report to come back which isnt looking good for the WOF station and seemingly its not there first offence either and then its off to small claims court ...
So what was it? Yeh sorry for the slow update blew a disc in my back so been drugged up. Took it to Craig timms in Foxton whos a top bloke when it comes to 4x4s and it seems theres a fair bit of damage internally in the front diff so will get a new one this week and get him to swap the air locker ...
Finally got the Challenger road worthy and decided to take it onto the beach to test the 4wd system. When I put it in 4wd it starts grinding in the front left and the light for the center diff starts flashing. Any Ideas what I should be looking at.
Pulled the rest of the challenger apart and did some welding on the front xmember and started painting the underneath. Hopefully get that finished this week so can start the reassemble next weekend.
Also not 4WD related, but I spent the weekend at Napier airport manning a static display of our Air Force Agusta Westland A109 Light Utility Helicopters, quoting all the specs and trying to respond to those curly questions kids have Weather was awesome, people were awesome, it was a brilliant ...
end of tokomaru valley road instead of heading down to the dam take a sharp left and head back east up into the ranges along the edge of wilkies old 890 ha block of land, be aware it is private property on the northern side of that creek. from there the road twists and winds up through all the ...
Went for a play to test out the steering mods up around the dams behind shannon today. Bulldozed some mud then went right up into the scrub above the forestry did a few steep creek crossings and bashed a few paths that haven't seen a vehcile in years. didn't make it to the deer trap though, recent ...
