Good point dirty dog I havent checked the ignition switch yet.
Pain in the arse especially with a still dodgy hand.
Is there any way of bypassing the ignition switch to see if it is that, thats causing the problem>?

had the spigot bearing destroy itself and there is a bit of wear on the shaft that slips into the bearing inner. Only found it when pulling the motor out and was hoping to be able to remove it and have it repair/replace without having to completely pull the box apart....already got enough to do with ...

If by Terrano II you mean the JDM Mistral, then no, it used the FS5R30A transmission which is the younger brother to the Y60 Safari's FS5R50A. FS5R30A was also used in WD21 V6 Pathfinder (cast bellhousing) I think the crappy gearbox you are referring to is the FS5W71C 4-cyl box. It is lighter duty ...

I turn the key and half the time I get a click but no starter motor turning, I flick key off and on and eventually it turns and the engine fires.
