Re: Returning member from 80 Series to 4Runner
Circle Track Engineering did a great job on the driveshaft, all the vibration is gone. I fitted one of the front axles today and the vibration under my feet is gone but there is still a vibration at the front so ill do the passengers side. The transfer box is whining heaps when not in 4wd. Is it ...

Re: Returning member from 80 Series to 4Runner
I dropped the drive shaft into circle track last week and fave ordered replacement front CV shafts from online auto parts in Aus. They arrived today but despite no damage to the box both outer CVs have got bent seal protector rings :( I was hoping to swap the axles over at the weekend as every now ...

Re: Returning member from 80 Series to 4Runner
Today the 2Runner became a FrontRunner. Im still chasing vibrations so thought id try driving from the front only, the wobbly vibration is gone so im guessing the rear drive shaft is bent or out of balance, but there is a notchy vibration that I'm putting down to CVs as it has the originals in it ...

Returning member from 80 Series to 4Runner
About 6 months after I sold my 80 series, my brother decided to sell the 4Runner that my Dad bought new in 1990. It had been used for towing a horse float for the last 8 years or so and was dirty/smelly and really gutless, add to that a rear diff whine and leaking radiator, but the price was very ...

My brother got his 1hz 70 series done at the Woodend garage I think. He is really happy with the job, it goes well.
It would be worth talking to Chris at Blackwood motors, he is really good, he sorted my 1hdt. I was told to go to him as.he is a guru.

Can you adjust the calibration of the temp gauges? It seems a bit odd for digital units to be that different.
Try doing an ice/water test to see if they both read a correct zero.

Re: 80 series cruiser steering arm issues
The tell tale sign of them coming loose is the buildup of excess grease coming through the swivel seal onto the ball like in the first photo, its one of the things I usually have a quick look for when doing a quick visual check of the truck How does the steering arm affect grease coming through the ...

He is wrecking 4 cruisers, he may have the diff lock switch you were after.
Id like the factory lockers out of one of the trucks he has there
By the way, if you are draining antifreeze, dont let your pets near it as apparently it will poisen them

Hi KP, there is a lot of discussion on antifreeze and your other question about oils on offroad80s.com which is a forum for 80 & 100 series landcruisers. I have found it really useful. Interesting your comment about your seats, I looked at your post and couldn't work it out, as mine has bolt holes ...

Very nice 80 KP, you have to be happy with that!
Is the center diff lock not standard? If the switch isn't there does it have the other bits? Presumably it locks in low range?

Re: VX landcruiser 12 valve
. 11 l per 100 around town and 12 on the open rd? It uses less round town or is that a typo? Yes, its the only vehicle ive ever had that does that! Re: VX landcruiser 12 valve
I can only answer a couple of these as mine is manual. Im getting 11L per 100km around town and 12 per 100 on the open road. The 1hdt probably isnt as powerful as the later engine, but I think it goes great. Going to twizel a few weeks ago I sailed past a bus going up burkes pass in 5th. I dont know ...

Fixed the electric windows that didnt like going up when wet.
Took one of the window rubbers out and washed it in the bath when wife was out, lots of dirt came out.
Found the window angle adjustment, all works great now.

Re: KZN130 Surf sticking in 4wd
Yes that's the valves I swapped the hoses on.
Ours was a 2.8 and didn't have a turbo.
Turning key off made no difference, nor did moving in and out of low range.
The 4wd light stayed on from memory.

Re: KZN130 Surf sticking in 4wd
Our one did it too, I had to swap the vacuum hoses on the two solenoid valves on the drivers side by the battery to get it out of 4wd.
After driving around like that for a few weeks it went fine and never jammed again.

Re: Wanted Non-turbo 80 series manual Landcruiser
Hi Callum
Just out of interest why the non turbo preference?
I have driven a 70 series non turbo and compared it to my 80series turbo (both manuals)and it was was very hard to be keen on the non turbo.
