Re: lpg truck wont rev
I'm a forklift mechanic, and Iv dealt with countless bad bottles of lpg, change the bottle for another and they run fine, hence why 3 brand new machines all go down at once, not all gas suppliers are equal.

Re: new here escudo question
The only common problem that I can think of is the crank pulley bolt comes loose and allows the timing belt gear on the crank to move and slog out the key way, mine did this but there wasn't a noise just shit timing. Wouldn't hurt to check it.

Re: the frog escudo
Has brackets that bolt to two factory holes where the bumper mounts to I believe on the side and then drill a third through the front, then simply bolt the bar to the brackets, I'm adding in another to tie it back to that round bar that goes across the front of the chassis.

FTS lift kit not sure how it'll go seems to hard at the moment but will soon find out. Winch was made by ORE member loppee in rolly, top bloke and makes a damn good bar. Would love to see what your rear bar turns out like.

Maintenance book says for our temperature range 10w30, 10w40, 10w50, 15w40, 15w50, and 20w50 so not a lot of choice there
even 5w30 if it's going down to -30C

Check the voltage drop across your pos and neg leads and across engine earth, should be no higher than 0.5 volts, if it is you've got a high resistance in a connection or lead itself

Re: g16a rebuild
Well the rebuild of mine has cost roughly $2000, that includes a new head at $900, second hand crank $290, rebuild cam $300ish, also rebuild kit $500 which has all new bearings pistons and rings, water and oil pump, gasket set timing kit etc plus a few other bits and bobs like head bolts and crank ...

Re: engine help. a follow on from G13 timing thread
I did the valves on my sj with a soft wire brush on a drill, then just lapped them in, worked a treat. Lapping valves is easy to do so long as you have the tools. Where did you get the price for the valve stem seals? I got a complete engine gasket kit for not much more than that from repco, mind you ...

Re: engine help. a follow on from G13 timing thread
Yea they're simple as to make this is how I made mine. Old spark plug, cut off the earth and knock out the ceramic then just weld on an air fitting, hook it up to your air tank via a regulator and your away laughing. Word of warning though, when you've got a cylinder on tdc compression stroke be ...

Re: engine help. a follow on from G13 timing thread
Gotta love the trusty eye-o-meter. Your right in that it would need to be some fairly obvious damage to the seat for the amount of compression you've lost, for your future reference the best way to check your valves are sealing when you've got the head off is to flip it upside down and fill the ...
