Re: September 24th 25th
Installed a Headunit and UHF radio in the 80 series today. What a mission that was! Found out that it has the factory amp in it which meant a lot of googling to figure out how to get around it as 1 pair of wires controlled all the speakers. Got it all fitted up inside the double din slots with a ...

Re: 80 Series Lockers
Have jacked it up and cant hear the actuator working when i flick the switch.
Are they hard to pull out and bench test. i.e. if i put 12v across the solenoid should it fire?
I assume u test these lockers the same as an Auto locker?
tried it with truck in Neutral and transfer in neutral aswell

80 Series Lockers
Just picked up a triple locked 80 series.
Rear locker doesnt want to engage.
Truck has done 300 000 k's and has most likely never been used.
Front and center both work fine. has any body had this before? Could it be as simple as a stuck actuator solenoid?
Thanks

Re: Newbie, looking to get first 4wd
Id personally steer well clear of an Izuzu lol. Very unreliable engines. Id be looking towards a Nissan Terrano. Fits in your price range nicely. should get something in decent condition for 5k. TD27t engines are very good engines. Only thing that lest them down is weak steering but that can be ...

Yes its definaly worth it. I have reciently turbo'd mine and it has made a massive difference. Especially when towing. For everything u will need including cert and rebuilding (MSE) the turbo you are looking at around 3k. Can do it cheaper if you dont intercool it or rebuild the turbo and use cheap ...

Re: Fitting boost compensator to non turbo hilux pump
Finally did this yesterday. Awesome write up really helped.
One trick we found was removing the max fuel screw all together. Made fitting the comp to the 3l pump much easier.
Once the top hat was back on we just reinstalled it

I use the Bosch 18v Pro series drill and impact driver and its fantastic.
4Ah batteries and heaps of torque is a winner. And the impact driver has 180NM of torque and a 1/2" driver
