Re: Help? diff whine or play in driveshaft? transfer case?
It's most likely your diff , mine did the same and it was the spider gear pins slogged out in the housing. There are other things that will cause this bearings ect

Re: G16B needing more power/torque Superchargers ??
But ecu , loom all that will need changed ? Or will I just need a j20 ecu ? It sounds like a good idea because those j20s feel like they have good power (driven a grand vitara at work with a j20)

Re: G16B needing more power/torque Superchargers ??
Yes I'm darn shure it's got 5:12 ratio diffs , the idea of supercharger only kicking in at high rpm sounds like a good idea thanks

Re: G16B needing more power/torque Superchargers ??
The engine uses a air flow meter set up . Basically I just need 10-15 hp or so more to help it drag itself up hills without complaining haha. Yes I am aware of the cracking issues heads only crack on std manifold and blocks crack when you strike it unlucky only ever seen 2

Re: G16B needing more power/torque Superchargers ??
Driveline is standard at the moment. Currently I run buckshot 235/75r15 tyres but am going up to 31/9.5 (or 10.5) r15s . I don't really want to have to mess around with ecu"s and tunes ect so what Are the mods I can do to the engine to get the power up a bit ? I thought I could get away with low ...

G16B needing more power/torque Superchargers ??
my g16b is starting to struggle a bit (up steep climbs ect ) its fine in 4 low 1st gear but sometimes thats just to slow so i go to 2nd and the engine just dies out. I was thinking of bolting on a toyota levin (4AGE) supercharger and running a low boost (5-5lb ) just to keep the torque up a bit ...

Re: 31" simex mileage ???
Oh bother
due to where I go it does a lot of raid driving to get to the off-road spots so would need to be a reasonable tyre on the road any similar tyres that perform well off-road yet still not to bad on road ?

Re: LWB vitara 4.5' spring lift help
Ok yea that makes sense, I fitted the fts 3" lift springs with 15mm spacers it's got some good front ground clearance but the springs sit out on quite a bow and touch calipers at full lock, how have you people resolved this issue in the past. Cheers

Re: LWB vitara 4.5' spring lift help
thanks for all the advice the reason im staying away from 31'' tyres is the power issue but could get the camshaft ground for a bit more get up and go ?? the 235/75r15s are due for replacement anyhow, and yes you are right i suppose 4.5'' would stress the cv joints a bit much and due to where i take ...

Re: LWB vitara 4.5' spring lift help
No no body lift been considering a 1" body lift to give the sills a bit more clearance but I see no point in big body lifts because it doesent increase ground clearance and it makes for a lot more hassle (brake lines , gear levers, even more body roll around corners ect ect ) and no I have not ...

Re: LWB vitara 4.5' spring lift help
my trucks curently got buckshot 235/75r15s but am looking to go for a real meaty offroad 30.9.5r15 rather than 31's because due to it being a stock 1.6 i still want a bit of get up and go for road driving, i was planning to put diff drop brackets in but leave the struts only at 1.5' longer than ...
