Re: 91 Terrano LSD Rear end leaking.. Advice?
Is there a gasket or anything behind it? I want to be prepared before I pull it out. I was thinking filler hole / maybe the vent is clogged?

91 Terrano LSD Rear end leaking.. Advice?
Hi guys. I am in the USA and really love this forum. You guys are always so helpful. I figured I'd pose the question as to "Guess the leak point" by the attached photo and then pose the question : How do I repair? Gaskets, o-ring, etc? Thank you all! http://i.imgur.com/ft9P6Pc.jpg http://i.imgur.com ...

Re: Weird wiring / starter question 1991 WD21 with TD27 Swap
So I feel dumb but relived. I drive a short distance to work and I think the battery was just depleted over time, just having enough juice to start when it was needed until finally dropping below the threshold. I got a test light and learned how to check at the starter, key switch etc and then stuck ...

Re: Weird wiring / starter question 1991 WD21 with TD27 Swap
Crash, Thanks for the guidance.. I wonder myself its just strange that it was so intermitant that it seemed almost like a wire being disconnected or partially grounded could cause the issue. I'm not sure on the starter brand I'm sure that will be something next on the list.. If anyone else has ...

Re: Weird wiring / starter question 1991 WD21 with TD27 Swap
Battery is fine , can hear glow plug really click and starter click when you turn the key. In the past I was able to rock the key back-and-forth and then it would usually start. I had I running yesterday but had no luck today..

Re: Weird wiring / starter question 1991 WD21 with TD27 Swap
Do you guys think that wire may have never even been connected? I have no idea what should or should not be on the truck is the confusing part. It has been intermittently starting for the past few months and I had it started yesterday. I'm thinking the starter may be shot but was hopeful maybe this ...

Weird wiring / starter question 1991 WD21 with TD27 Swap
So, I'm having weird starting issues and can finally not get it to start. Just clicking. I poked around and looked at the starter and noticed a wire that looks like it should be going somewhere, as the other one that comes from the connector Black/Pink or Red can't tell bolts to the stop of the ...

Guess the TD-27T and which glow plugs I need?
Hey guy's I was told this engine was likely from a homy van or somthing of the sort from others on the forum. Having issues with starting after the truck sits and it has become semi cold overnight then has no issue starting later in the day. It is a TD-27T are all the glow plugs the same? Does ...

Still leaking oil. I would just like to clear up if this is simply blow by or somthing more serious.. It is not the oil filter and it was not double gasketed..
Leak appears to be on the right hand side (USA Passenger side ).. Any guidance from anyone?
Thanks!!!

Replaced the oil filter and the leak is still occuring; The shop said they also noticed quite a bit of oil on the passenger side. Can anyone else chime in who also had a leaky terrano or TD27T? Thanks!

Re: Spot the oil leak, guess the source TD27T. 91 Path Diese
Why not change the filter yourself? It's an easy job and then you can have a good look around the area with your own eyes. Might spot something else causing this while you're at it. My fender is all cut up; I paid $10 USD to have them change the filter really quick and not have to mess with it ...

So I had the filter changed and the shop said they did see oil on top of the filter, but that it was not double gasketed. They also said they did notice quite a bit of oil pooled on the passenger side, could this be rear main seal or something? I will see if it still leaks this week in my work ...

Crash - Thank you so much for clarifying again, I see what you mean. I'll pull the filter and see if maybe there is an old gasket underneath.
As far as the engine type, I am 100% positive it is a TD27 as it is stamped on the right hand side... Just wondered more about this particular model..

Thank you sir! I guess everyone's general consensus is the oil filter? Would a leak in the piping cause oil to pour drip out?

Re: Newbie TD27T owner in the USA. WD21 with Terrano Engine
After seeing the new photos it is definatley the oil filter not sealing properly. That intake manifold is rather errr... unique. It's looks suspiciously not a TD27 either more like an early QD32. It's not from the nissan caravan or forklift as the 97 was ETI maybe from a Elgrand etc. I thought so ...

OK. I am blown away at the response and how awesome you guys are on this forum . I did notice something today. There is a small hole in the silicone coupling that is near the fuel filter, it looks like it rubbed and created a tiny hole. Would it be possible to blow enough oil out said hole and dump ...

Here are a few images to start until I can get back out there and pop the hood. Notice the oil pooling streaked across the bottom of the oil pan. Any ideas? I'll check those when I get out of work today. Thanks for the pointers. I wonder If it could also be a double gasket on the oil filter, but from what I've read it should be pouring out a bit more oil. Pics will be posted tonight. Thanks for the quick response!

Newbie TD27T owner in the USA. WD21 with Terrano Engine Swap
Hi, What a relief it was to find this forum of tons of golden knowledge! I am one of the few in the USA with a TD27T. I did not perform the swap on this truck so I am still trying to learn a bit about the Td27 and Nissan Diesels in general. I did all the basic maintence when I aquired the truck ...
