Re: Auto hub bolt size
Thanks. It was not something I have ever considered but then I had seen people asking for a "left" auto hub, etc. on trademe and it go me thinking.

Re: Auto hub bolt size
Yeah, I had the same reasoning, but when I play with one, it will lock if you turn it far enough in either direction (unless that is the answer to your question?...). I understand the auto hubs unlock in reverse when not in load, i.e. if you reverse while still in 4wd they will stay locked because ...

Re: Auto hub bolt size
Ok, maybe another dumb question, does it matter which side the auto hubs go on? I mean is there a left hub and a right hub or are they interchangeable?

Auto hub bolt size
Hi guys, I've just got myself an Escudo, 4 years after selling my Vitara. They're both 1993's. The one I just got has had the front hubs removed, because the previous owner had broken the front diff, and never got around to fixing it. I've swapped the diff and was about to put the hubs back on, but ...

Hi, Don't forget the SC14 is a lot heavier than the 12, so you are likely to need stronger mounts etc. But the amount of boost it produces can be adjusted with different pulleys. I will get some pics of the mounts I have at the moment. The biggest thing for me was where to put the mounts. I have ...

Hi, thanks for your interest. So far, I have mounted/installed the DIY air fuel ratio meter, fuel pressure regulator and have made most of the mount for the supercharger. However, most of it had been put on hold for the last couple of months, because I just moved down to Invercargill and bought a ...

Vitara Power Steering Unit (?)
Hi, Just went for my WOF and they picked up a couple of things, ball joint needs fixing, easy, tighten wheel bearing, easy (I think), tighten rear suspension bush, easy, But they also said my power steering unit was leaking (the bit which directly attaches to the steering arms etc). Anyway, has ...

I am going to try use an intercooler from a Celica GT4, however, I am going to have to modify the inlets and outlets to make it work. Anyway, update so far, I have made half of the mount for the supercharger, and it seems to be sitting in the engine bay alright. I will finish off the rest of the ...

Yeah, I thought about using the crank pulley, but it will have to be a triple, cos the vitara has a belt for the pump, fan, alt and another for ps and ac. I am going to have a go at doubling up the ps pulley when I get back to Qtown this weekend. Hopefully it will be balanced alright. I went and got ...

Right, I have just spent my lunch time checking out a couple of wreckers. I went to John MacKenzie wreckers here in Invercargill, and one of the guys gave me a pulley about the right size and a large idler, which was nice of him. So I will try fabricate up something that will mount off the PS pulley ...

Yeah, I know, but that is the easy way!!!, haha, I would really like to keep it, unless there is no way to engineer it in. But at the moment I can still see potential to keep both, even if it means it is a little more difficult. I would like to have this as a comfortable daily driver, but with a ...

Yeah, I have measured it up, and if I get some new fittings for the AC it will fit, just. My next problem is how to power it, I was going to run just a longer belt that cover the PS, AC and supercharger, but that won't work very well for the AC, as the belt will only touch a small part of it's wheel ...

Yeah, you might be right about the noise since it will be a daily driver. I am thinking it might be ok to just run a pod under the bonnet for while now, until I get it all running well, just as long as I dont do any big water crossings etc. I guess as close to the firewall and as high as I can get ...

There isn't any anti sieze on the bolts yet, but that has reminded me to do it before they do sieze up!! I haven't got access to a dyno down here in Qtown, but I am hoping that I can get Street Dyno to work properly, so I can at least get an idea of the increase. Or else I will get one of the G-Tech ...

Supercharged Suzuki Vitara 1600 16v Project
Ok, it begins now. Hopefully I will be able to keep this thread up to date with the build. Right, I got the supercharger on Thursday, it was very oily, and dirty. And I found a 2cm long piece of metal shard inside, from someone cross threading one of the intake bolts!!!. Even worse, I had turned the ...

Vitara Fuel Pump
I need to upgrade the fuel pump for my supercharging project.
Does anyone know which fuel pumps fit into a Vitara? It has an internal tank pump. Are all in tank pumps mostly the same, or should I use an extra inline fuel pump?

Ok, just got a new section of pipe to connect the new extractors to the existing exhaust welded up. (cos before it was a little noisy, hehe) The car is going sooooo much better now, smoother, more power. Definately good. I am not sure about the Rage, but the Coby's have equal length runners, which I ...

I just installed a shiny new set of Coby extractors on my 16v. $250 including postage. They also come painted (I assume high temp paint, yet to find out) orange, which looks pretty cool sitting in the engine bay. (I will post a photo soon) I just need to get a new flange welded to them to connect to ...
