I know some of the Surfs came out with Recaros but am unsure if the runners are the same as on the Prado 90s. Be good ...

Re: FJ62 1988 5 Speed gearbox rebuild help
As it happens, my old 81 was offered back to me and I jumped on it. The 88 is still sitting at home next to the house. Wife is getting a bit annoyed at looking at it. So the Hyundai is smelling of fish and she complained about the fishy smell in that . Can't win.

FJ62 1988 5 Speed gearbox rebuild help
Hi, It was only a matter of time ... Couple of fishing trips and 2 weeks ago, the gearbox ended up with a major whine and rattle thereafter while on the motorway. Nothing like being thrown in the deep end and learning fast. Happened a week after I changed all the fluids. I have checked box oil and ...

Re: New to me FJ62 and new to 4x4
Will visit once I'm more confident with everything on it. On2it I had a good look around and considered the later models as well. Glad I got the 62 though as it is so much fun to drive. Being a 4x4 newbie I'll try my best to answer your question. I take it front lockers means the manual locking of ...

Re: New to me FJ62 and new to 4x4
Hi, thanks.
I'm based in Auckland. Wishing it was a desert right now.
An Uncle used to have one when I was a kid and I used to watch from the back seat. Finally I get to be in the drivers seat.
Shrapa, did you get the beige one ?

New to me FJ62 and new to 4x4
Just dropping in to say hi. Got a 1988 FJ62 after looking at all sorts of 4x4's. Got it mainly for Fishing, some towing and am building a garage later in the year. My Wife will also be happy that her Previa stays clean. Have been into Classics for over 20 years. Mainly German stuff, VW, Mercedes ...
