external thermostat housing
im looking for an external thermostat housing as my old housing has eroded away so much the thermostat wont fit, has anyone used them before or know where to find one? any info would be awesome.

i did the same thing, was turning the nut oh this is easy, oh wait haha. i suspect i also have worn balljoints to, my bearings feel ok, everything else looks good, so ill replace the balljoints and go from there. thanks guys

if ya havent sorted it out yet and need some info. i run a custon intercooler setup using a nissan avenir sr20det intercooler, seems to work quite well, ive gone top mount on mine, there is a little boost lag but dont notice it in 4x4. only got it for 50 aswell so im happy with it.

the tap is setup properly, think it could b just a cheap tap, but ive so far done a custom intercooler and removed muffler to help with flow, ive just noticed that the boost drops off around top end and been told that the tap will help that is that correct?

by the looks of things its got a butterfly valve like a petrol and the sensor is on the oppisite side of where the cable connects onto. i havent got any pics but if ya google it it sorta makes sense, thanks for the help tho

no im not really sure,hahaha how does the 1kz detect fuel dosage, like the td27s have the accelerator cable on the govenor i get that but im assuming the 1kz has a setup like a petrol car??

the egr has been stopped not blocked,same sort of thing i guess, now with the butterfly removal how does that work, do you just straight unscrew the butterfly plate and leave it like that? or is there another way, because it needs the rotation of the valve to turn the tps??? correct me if im wrong ...

cheers guys, im not having any overheating probs so far just want to reduce the chance of it happening, will look at getting a new shroud first and look at my viscous fan.

thats what i was thinking,will have to get quite a powerfull electric fan to match the viscous. yea mite give it a go some time, it dosent overheat but just want to prevent it if something goes wrong. cheers for the info tho.

hey i was wondering if i put an electric fan in front of the radiator fo use when offroading or towing to make sure it stays normal temp and use the existing viscous fan for normal use will that work???

located wellington.so far done coolant replacement and oils. goes well hasnt got hot when offroading seems to be ok, ha now how do i fit these EGT gauges?? ive heard alot about them. thanks for your info guys.

1kz-te top mount intercooler
hey guys, newbie here i was wondering if someone has or knows anyone with a top mound intercooler setup for my toyota surf 1kz, i was thinking a front mount so it dosent get the heat from the top of the engine but i need the factory intercooled intake, some help on the subject would b awesome, cheers.

ive met a few people that have done the turbo mod to the rd28, they say it can handle it quite well, but that could b just their luck, but if all else fails the price of a rd28 is fairly cheap compared to other diesels.
