Re: Escudo 91 LSD front diff

Had the truck out a few times now and its been great the axle is still tight as and no signs of becoming loose. The two lockers make a huge difference and I have been getting up some nasty hills and tect park tga.

Re: Escudo 91 LSD front diff

Just another point we cut the small lip on the green main shaft that sits on the oil seal as the nylon bush pushed the oil seal out 1mm or so and wanted to make sure the sir clip would sit correctly.

Re: Escudo 91 LSD front diff

Made up one of those nylon bushes will let you know how it goes. As you can see we had to laiv down the standard axle to fit into the lockrite. The original person I bought it off didn't laiv the shaft down to the correct size and was 0.5mm to small which added to the movement. We have got the corre...

Re: Escudo 91 LSD front diff

Mines a 1991 that seems to be a 1999 to 2005? Have one of you added this part to a 1991 front diff?

Thanks

Escudo lockrite driving tips

Hi, I have a welded rear diff and lockrite front diff in a Escudo. Just wondering if anyone has lockers front and rear and any good off road driving tips. Like crawl everywhere is better or full speed?? Just knowing when to stop and get the winch out, is there a different driving style for front and...

Re: Escudo 91 LSD front diff

Two people have told me it has to be a lockrite and still having three wheel drive it must be. It drives like a normal car on the open road. I am going to take 2mm off another standard zook CV and try again as any custom axles etc need a $580 cert! I will change my driving style as I will basically ...

Re: Lift & 31's and stuff

Awesome read thanks for the information. I have a 91 Escudo on 31's with what I have been told is a LSD front diff (others say has to be a lockrite). I have broken two axles as you can see in the picture. The left side is a standard cv and the right has 2.5mm taken off to fit. This picture is of the...

Escudo 91 LSD front diff

Hi, I have a LSD front diff (unsure what it came out of) and I have snapped to axles front right side just after the spline on the diff end. Is this because the LSD is so tight? I still had three wheel drive?? A standard Zook CV doesn't fit and need 2mm taken off the shoulder above the spline which ...

GL-4 or GL-5??

I have heard so much about these types and oils and I would love to get the pro's and con's for both.

If anyone has used GL-5 for years and never had a problem please speak up :D

Thanks

Re: Suzuki ecusdo 1991 1.6 Gearbox

I have just had a good look and I can only find one filler cap on the gearbox and one sump plug on the transfer case. Would suggest that they share the same oil?

Also did you use 75w - 90? So many people say different things around GL-4 and GL-5 hard to know what's true.

Re: Suzuki Escudo 96 5dr G16a - Drum Brakes Bedding

I think my problem is not the same but one of you may have an idea. I have a Suzuki Escudo 91 and the drum was very hard to remove from the axle. (The handbrake wasn't on) when I put the drum back on again it was very hard and needed some hammering. Is this normal? now spinning the wheel I get about...

Suzuki ecusdo 1991 1.6 Gearbox

I have read a few different gearbox oil capacity amounts and wanted to get the correct amount from someone that's done it before and what type of oil you used?

Also is there a separate sump plug for the transfer case or does the gearbox share the transfer cases oil?

Thanks

Drum brakes

I have a Suzuki Escudo 91 and the drum was very hard to remove from the axle. (The handbrake wasn't on) when I put the drum back on again it was very hard and needed some hammering. Is this normal? now spinning the wheel I get about 80% of freewheel until it gets very hard to turn the wheel and then...

Re: Auto locking diff

I cant really hear the clicking when going round corners but I think that's because the worn bearings are making to much noise. I have not checked the oil but at a closer look it seems as the driveshaft spins its flicking oil out where the pinion bearing is. That's a great idea I cant believe I didn...

Auto locking diff

I have a Suzuki escudo 1991 3 door. I was told it has an auto locking rear diff and turning at low speeds its very easy to tell but as soon as you get above say 10km it acts like a normal diff. My question is does that sound right? And once you are above around 60km the diff seems to be very noise l...

Sounds good and i would prefer the v6. I would love to know more details if you have them? Like what gearbox to you use? What trans box and running gear if not standard?

Thanks

Daihatsu Rocky V6/2.8dt??

Hi,

I want to build a new short wheel base truck. I have heard a bit about Daihatsu Rocky's and I want to put something like a V6 or 2.8dt with hilux/land cruiser running gear.

Any measurements/problems/photos of conversions or other suggestions would be great.

Thanks

Re: nissan terrano electrical problems

Would that have any effect on why my gauges are not working? I have taken the dash apart and check all the connections which seem to be fine.

If I have no voltage at the gauge cluster how can this be fixed?

Re: nissan terrano electrical problems

Alternator has output is 13.3 on both batteries which will just eat through batteries abit quicker than 13.8 I assume?

I checked all and found no blown fuses. I will rip the dash apart later and check the cluster, will I just be looking for loose wires not full connected?

Thanks again for the help

Thanks for the tips I have a volt meter and will check it later. If it is a bad earth would that be a simple as un-bolting the earth and going over the surface it connects to with a wire brush?

nissan terrano electrical problems

I have a nissan terrano 1991 2.7TD and after spending 1600 fixing the $#@&*^ gearbox every gauge stopped working as I pulled into my driveway. The speedo still works obviously but rev counter fuel temperature all reading nothing but the battery light stays on. Checked all the fuses and Vo...
