got brand new cable today from FWD Spares in Nelson cost $78.85 inc. They have them for most model landcruisers. Contact no is 035474147.

Landcruiser Speedo cable wanted

Any one got a speedo cable they dont require to fit a 1989 landcruiser, BJ74, 13bt, manaul box. Toyoto quoted $204.00+ for one.

Forgot to mention one downside, some of the forestry company's will not let trucks in with side exiting exhausts. Is stated on the permit. Can be a problem on some trips.

Hi Badnuz I have a bj74 with the 13bt. I have a side exhaust which exits just in front of rear wheel it is fitted with small straight muffler. It is 2.5 inch, no flexi joint [ I do have one but not got around to fitting yet] I would recommend you fit one as there is some vibration from the exhaust ...

Mines done 169,000 km. Kevin i have heard they are exspensive have not looked into it yet. may be cheaper to do away with it and run choke like cable and manually shut it down.

Yeh thats what we did to get home to Nelson. If you do not want to stall the truck you pop the bonnet and manually lift the fuel or air shut off, that the vacuum works.

Took mine out couple weekends ago. Drops out the bottom, remove braket that goes from bellhousing to engine and one of the bottom bellhousing bolts. It will turn and drop through gap ok.

Im not sure about that. Looking to use only the top 2 or 3 leafs to make custom pack for my BJ74 My research shows that 75 cab chassis are about 100mm longer than the stock 74s

Not sure exactly, left westport around 11 oclock had play on way through , stopped for lunch at river ,then on out and home to Motueka at about 4.30. Track its self would proberly take around 1.5 hrs I guess.

Went through end of Jan. It is gravel road, should cause no problems at all. River was low and no problems to pick way through.
