buy a good quailty rope NOT a cheap one, they are the same size
but they are not the same .
i use Amsteel from Tony at ultra Ropes.
on my winch truck and it was the only rope that had a chance with my winch set up.
pay a bit more and you will be fine.

dont see to many trials trucks driving under there own power at the end of the day. agree with both comments, and that is to build it for the purpose intened. i personally would over engineer that look at the weight issue. had a winch truck with a hydro winch, would of added 150 kgs plus weight over...

Electric winch can do with small dia rope, my rear winch is 8274 with 7.8 hp motor.
Works well and is reliable.
Just remember it is only a back up, or good for tech stuff if pto will not go backwards.

my toyota is 101 and thought it was short, but it turns better than my suzuki, climbs ok, but there are more corners than hills at most winch comps. when i mod the suzuki it will be around the 102 mark. you have to take into account the axle width also. you will never get the perfect truck, just one...
