Re: ORE Westcoast Easter 2017
For those that are planning on doing the chasm and havn't seen it. You need to be prepared for it, spares to keep your truck going including things that break on the harder trips ie hubs, CV's, driveshafts, spare battery (bit of winching) and other bits like spare door if needed. Many have made it ...

Re: New 4x4 overland blogging/tracking website
So the tracking website is fully live now. (still have a couple of minor text and icon changes) but it is completely usable. I have Android and Apple apps in the store. The site is completely free. The apps have a minor charge to joe public. But to ORE members I have a heap of codes available so you ...

Re: New 4x4 overland blogging/tracking website
I made a few changes to the app and had it mounted on the dashboard where I usually have my speedo app running. I added in a speedo and heading function in. I made it so you can choose the update frequency. I had it running every 2mins and sometimes 5 mins. The default is 10mins. Offroad you want it ...

Re: New 4x4 overland blogging/tracking website
I have had a good look around but I feel I am missing something - is it designed to be uploaded by an app (such as from my iphone) and then able to be read by anyone (such as family many miles away) on a desktop/laptop through a normal web browser? [Edit - I downloaded Chrome and the Nomads 'app ...

Re: New 4x4 overland blogging/tracking website
Looks cool, I'll have a play around later. That sort of thing I would have used, family were interested in where we were as well and they could have looked it up. Your trip and Albundy's would have been cool as it is quite good to see where you go as well as photos and text. But your trips were ...

New 4x4 overland blogging/tracking website
Hi All, Some of you will know I live on a boat and then sailed it around the pacific and as such built a yacht tracking website. Some of you will also know that Dieselboy tracked his 4x4 adventure around Australia with the yachting site. While this worked, it wasn't quite ideal. Then somebody else I ...

Re: ORE Westcoast Easter 2017
There are usually a few club trips in the area over easter. As long as they don't hold us up there won't be too many fisticuff incidents. As for bikes, I'm not sure, I guess so. The only thing I would be hesitant about is that we would be slower than you guys and recovery if they break? could be fun ...

Re: ORE Westcoast Easter 2017
Definitely keen. Could be an option to hire the Westport Scout Hall and have our own venue for a weekend? Yeah that sounds cool. Do they have showers and toilets? If not that westport camp ground is pretty cool, it has quite a cool hangout area. But having our own base would also be really cool as ...

Re: ORE Westcoast Easter 2017
To do tailings you would ultimately want a winch, otherwise a very capable truck without and to buddy up to a truck that has one. Definitely mud tyres and don't mind a few new racing stripes. (not panel damage, just pin stripes). It is an epic track. Min 32's or pretty high dif clearance. The other ...

ORE Westcoast Easter 2017
Who's keen? I'm definitely heading down. A few (or maybe just a couple) from the Kiwi 4x4 club are keen. Would be good to catch up and do some tracks with some of the old ORE crew. Tracks I'm thinking we could do Tailings again (love this track) Maybe chasm although will depend on the track ...

Big congrats to team RPM for a very Impressive win who had nicely setup and very reliable trucks which produced max points across all the stages. I kinda like the Dark / Black-Red theme... but the banner detracts from the information being presented. it forces the user to scroll and draws the eye away from the content. Also, landing on a bright busy image, and then following on to reading low contrast text feel a little awkward Content is ...
