Re: Modifying a Runva winch?
lol yes I would agree with you about pto if I wasn't running a transaxle buggy..... and yes I have considered options like driving off the crank mechanically off the front of the crank pulley with a clutch setup, or mounting a drive off the starter motor drive ring, these all sound simple but in rea...

Modifying a Runva winch?
Its about time to start thinking about the winch for the toy I'm looking at building what ever I buy into a comp winch in the long term (twin motors and a bigger drum) so I want something with a lower gearing number to make this worthwhile... but in the meantime I want to just biff it at the trials ...

Didn't do anything on the trailer today, I attacked the parts car Stripped the front off and removed alot of the engine bay trim... so it'll be easier to get to the bits and pieces to remove the motor and box http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff195/De_Ranged/Un-named%20outlaw/20161016_164715.jpg ...

Isuzu elf.... think they have a 3 ton max payload, 13" rims, been warned by some of the boys in the North that the 12" rim tyres can't handle it.... I used to load 3 ton on my dyna firewood truck but I got that fitted with 8 ply HD tyres, that said I only run it for 3 months on them till I...

Re: An Un-named Outlaw...
Brake is the complicating issue with a god winch, don't think they bother with them in Malaysia. Got a couple of ideas, best is a hydrolic disk brake on the imput to the gearing reduction... effectively multiplying its holding power with a spring activation similar to trailer brake so pulling in un...

Re: An Un-named Outlaw...
Yes but why is it any different than the gearbox that your going to drive it off..... it will still need gearing reduction to set the speed so the torque loading will be the same

Re: An Un-named Outlaw...
Re the 48vdc issue.... What about running a 240vac generator and converting to 48vdc? My pik is that would be the only way to get a decent amperage of say 100a . It would mean the 240vac would have to put out 20 to 25 amp. Then look at welders for the ac to dc converter. This isn't something I'd th...
