Easter trip
Have decided to head down Cromwell way and yes there is plenty of mud down there. I am yet to work out the final details will let you know by the end of the week. Will probably base ourselves in Bannockburn, know a good camp ground there. Just checking, you do have rated tow hooks and recovery gear ...

I am putting a trip together to go either down to Twizel area IE: Dobson and Hopkins rivers ( access fee charge) or back d...

Gidday Guys, yes Bill you have the right motor camp and as for your roof rack: is it Bill proof???? Rob did this trip the other weekend and said it was quite easy. If river is up that will be our only problem. For those that live in CHCH, I may have a detour for us to explore that will bring us out ...

:D Am planning a trip on the 5 & 6 march to the Godley Glacier, spending the night at either Red Stag Hut or at MacCualey Hut. If we stay at Red Stag you will need tents. You will need high clearance as there will be a considerable amount of rock hopping to be done :D . Will probably need a snor...

94 nissan terrano lift
Reasons for the Terrano over a Safari. 1. Neede a long wheel base for the family and dog, Safari LWB too danm heavy. 3. Terrano oh so comfortable on and off road. 4. Safari seats dig in under my ribs when off road. 5. Price of a well set up LWB Safari too expensive. 6. Terrano lighter to winch using...

Sory for late reply, I got it from the local ARB supplier. Consisted of coils for the rear and nitrocharged shocks all round. Have thought about aftermarket torsion bars but I have since found out how to tweak the original more.

looks like you guys had a shitload of fun with Bill supplying the entertainment. Wway did you guys do the tunnels, as if you go through them first and in the rain, then the track can be quite challenging. Can't waitb to get back over to the coast. We weren't able to get to the top of mount greenland...

Padero,
pull a sickie or you will be camping at the waitahui and every time I have been there it rains. Peter: sorry to hear what the waitahui did to your truck, I have had some damage every time I have been down there, but it is a great place to go for a 4wd piss up.

looks like you guys had a good trip. I told you Bill that none of you would get away without any damage at all, thats the westcoast for you boys. And those Safarias: all of them get damaged rear corners on the westcoast. We should organise a piss trip into the Waitahu for a night. Best to be mid wee...

Old Man Range, Old Woman Range, Long Valley and Serpentine.
Have just done the above roads first week of this new year and all I can say it is the wettest the locals have seen it for many a year. We still had snow on top of the Old Man Range. Bog holes plus, plus and many a recovery 40+ in an eight truck convoy. But what fun and magic scenery.

I would rate that trip as one of the best I have done. Good company, good challenging driving and many a good laugh. Will defini...

How how quick to assume. Playing means exploring and enjoying the country side. I am very well aware of the problems of access and being environmentally sensitive. I have been quick to critise those who do wreck it for those that respect it. If you are so concerned, tag along to police us if you wil...

you can't go wrong with a terrano. Is it deisel or petrol. I have a V6 1994. Running on 31x10.5x15 Pirelli MT's and have changed the suspension over to Old Man Emu's. All my mates have extreme tuff-trucks with Diff locks, on 33" etc, etc but it doesn't make up for good driving ability. I go everywhe...
