And people complain about the mud in NZ. Looks like a hard slog and the villages have had a real rough go of it.
Amazing where you can take those little step thru bikes.
Good read and watch cheers.

Re: Best Battery Tool Brand
I currently use this for wheel nuts or pretty much anything. Hasn't run into anything too hard working on tractors. Big wheel nuts it struggles and you can feel the skin flex a bit. http://www.hitachipowertools.co.nz/ic/1881450811/WR18DSDL%28GJ%29.jpg Have also used this and it was mean....trade a l...

Re: Best Battery Tool Brand
I have the hitachi equivalent - 18v cordless pro set. 5.0ah li-ion batteries. 1/2 in impact wrench is 255nm. Drill is good but would have liked the hammer model which didn't come in a set at the time. Broken a couple chuck bolts running 20mm+ auger bits when rushing. Batteries last forever and my wr...

I run a redarc charge equaliser to manage the batteries individually and just run 12v stuff off one battery in the 24v system. Been working well for the last 5 years.

Conveyer belt rubber. i think i have 3mm. Can do full width of your guard replacing any inner skin, is nylon reinforced and nice and supple while still holding shape. Only the front done below (first attempt had that sag in it :x ) and hadn't been shaped yet. http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk176...

Same as the A14, same block I think. The link says 93kgs - kinda heavy? http://datsun1200.com/modules/mediawiki/index.php?title=Engine_Swaps#Engine_weights_and_specs You'll wanna know what gbox is in it to get an exact weight but just go off size maybe and compare it to something similar

Thats pretty sweet. Might be possible. I always just try em if the tyre has a bit of tread left. Tyre Savers in Hamilton I've used a few times and is a bit closer to you than aucks if your profile is right. Big slices through the tread to sidewall stakes have been fine. When I lived in Taupo they we...

Few people on here have been doing it for a while now. Works quite well in my patrol. Few threads about it on the aussie forums too.

Weird I have seen more than a couple manuals with remote starts fitted. Even seen one bunny hopped in the carpark with no driver in it as a result. Maybe just aftermarket fittment with an alarm or something.

They don't seem to last long on youtube. The History channel links that stay up on youtube are blocked for nz unless you run a vpn blocker or proxy. You catch a glimpse of one of their following trucks at 12:50. Looks almost like a bog truck. 4 runner on swampers, way bigger than any of the main tru...

Re: Stripped head bolt help
I'd have thought the allen head bolts were round so don't know how sockets are gonna help given how tight the bolts would be. Surely they would just spin. Go the hammered torx bit way if a fresh allen key and heaps of pressure doesn't work. The spline on the torx deforms easier and should fit the bo...

I wouldn't go there if you wanted to spend more time driving than spinning spanners. Looks like it won't go for more than scrap value.
Re: SJ416
Must have been only a few trucks. I have truck 39 and its a 413 tag.
Re: SJ416
You're on the right track. Can just take a bit of a hit to get it out. I'd be careful not to score the housing with your pin though as it could damage the new seal when installing. http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f328/Westcoasterz/xfercase012.jpg http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f328/Westcoasterz...

Re: Hi - Lifted Impreza
I'd go to the wreckers and ask to see the various motors/gearboxes if in stock and photograph the bolt patterns to see what might match up. It wouldn't surprise me if the ej20, ej22 and ej25 motors shared the same 5mt? gearbox I think you want. Could still have differing bolt patterns though but one...

Re: Hi - Lifted Impreza
That wagon i pictured had under 100 thou on the clock. I'd have been happy using it before the race. Even after probably. Difflock was excellent too. Kept me driving with two broken axles  Subbie parts are quite deer from parts guys so if an earlier box would fit it will be cheaper. I worked at...

Re: Hi - Lifted Impreza
There are a few subbie gearboxes that had hi and low range selectors. The early gl or loyale wagons had electric difflock too. My 91 legacy also had hi lo BUT it wasn't an option on my particular car from factory it seemed. The gearbox was correct, Subaru just didn't have the linkages and incab bits...

The oem ones can perish relatively fast due to exposure to oil I guess. There are better aftermarket ones that last longer. Even seen brass replacements. My non oem ones have done a few years now.
