Re: own a ford courier
What makes you think it is getting TOO hot, if the gauge is reading normal, with the thermostat working properly it should be getting quite hot, too hot to put your hand on, have you checked the temperature by some other means.

Hi Aaron, Apologies for not giving a ring, time just seems to fly by, looks like you are getting it sorted. Good to see shock mount is almost in line with the centers of the 2 pivot points at each end. Was thinking about drain point as well and agree that it will get blocked when in use but there wi...

Hi Aaron, Don't agree with this So at full compression I'm getting the equivalent of 4400 pounds pressing on my shock mount (8 inches x 150 pounds + 8 inches x 400 pounds) With springs in series and they are still both free to move you do not add the forces, you would if they were in parallel ( side...

Hi Aaron, Yes still watching with interest, yes DOM is good stuff, but in saying that not going to get any this time for my ZUK Rock Assault front axle install. Is it a set fee per truck or a nominal recommended donation
What jurisdiction does NZFWDA have over the track as I am sure there will be those that either don't know about the fee or don't want to pay the fee even if they know about it.
Presume it is self enforcement

Hi Aaron,
Just wondering what peoples experience has been with these in the mud and grit and how much they will wear, as they are not adjustable and don't think they are rebuildable.
I know they are used a lot in the States but a lot of their wheeling seems to be done in the dry
Cheers

Re: beadlock torque setting
If they do not have nuts and are threaded directly into the ring I would use the same figure that is used for mild steel bolts which is 8 Nm.
Even though the bolts are high tensile shouldn't use the high tensile torque figure as will possibly strip the threads in the ring.

have a look at http://www.machinerylubrication.com/Read/562/oil-change-filter-sensors Wopass has part of the answer particularly for Diesels that produce alot of soot, the standard oil filter is not fine enough for the very small soot particles. As the article says there is no single rule, very much...

Hi Aaron, DOM (Drawn Over Mandral) tube is not CrMo tube it is carbon steel tube like Sch pipe so it is easy to weld but is about 2 times as strong for yield strength, sch pipe ( A106B ) has a yield strength of about 35,000 psi or 240 MPa whereas DOM 1020 has a yield strength of about 65,000 psi or ...

Hi Aaron,
Have you seen these flash trailing arms, good for ideas https://www.ruffstuffspecialties.com/catalog/R1760.html
Also are you using DOM tube or Schedule pipe, if DOM where are you getting in from.
And last question, what joints are you planning to use.
Cheers

Hi, Yes I know the 2015 series has just finished and the planning may not have started yet for 2016, but thinking ahead about the possibility of coming down ( from Hamilton ) to do the series. Not for certain yet, yes you can get new motors, what brand is it, if it is a RUNVA, seems like you can get most parts.

Wtd Holden VN V8 Crank Pulley
Hi,
As per title, looking for crank pulley, not sure if there are different versions, mine is Vee belt, has 2 grooves closest to engine, then space between the 3rd groove, actually only need the two grooves closest to the engine.
Close to Hamilton if possible.
Thank you

Re: R151 box, full time 4wd with manual hubs?
why not just jack a rear wheel up ( or both if you have an LSD ) and turn a wheel to turn the drive shaft and see if the front drive shaft turns at the same time.now I need to find some gravel and make the wheels spin, to see if any of them make it 2wd.
