Re: An Un-named Outlaw...

That makes sense on the B pillar you can see the addition (and the plug welds for muff joints so done properly) but why the ugly joins to the uprights on the X either side of the flat section also the A pillars have been welded to the outside of the B pillar (look in the first pic) this shouldn't pa...

A wee teasers of an update Just got back from a roady to go get the "outlaw" she's sitting at work, no brakes, exhaust manifold leak, no reverse gear on the trans its slipping bad.... think this maybe due to way to much oil in the trans, I'd guess a collapsed king pin bearing on one corner...

Re: Suspension links

I would suggest not doing the die nut... they aren't for cutting threads they are for chasing threads that need cleaned or fixed... I have used them to cut threads in a pinch, the results were serviceable but very ruff and very tight.... use a nut once tight! Add to this the possibility this section...

Re: Suspension links

It's the torque twisting that is killing your rubber mounts as a general rule of thumb you need 25% of the tyre dia as seperation at the axle between the bottom and top mounts or in your case the front and back on your right hand radius arm because this is doing the job of resisting torque roll of t...

Re: Suspension links

If the links are parallel (or near too) then there will be little to no bind and you'll need a panhard if there is triangulation looking from above then there is no need to have a panhard as the triangulation does the same thing the bonus of the 4 link and panhard is the top link mounting tabs don't...

Re: Public Access vs Club Access

The problem we (HBMTB club) found wasn't us it was the land owners... because they were concerned about there liability for allowing us access there solution was simple... keep us out, alot of farm land is closed just for this reason That was why we did the club liability insurance and encouraged me...

Re: Public Access vs Club Access

Mountain bikers do have to join a club to go riding For the HB you are correct they do have to... or pay for a temp pass so they are covered by the insurance the club has I was the club chairman for a few yrs and was one of those that set this up.... we did this in an attempt to retain our access a...

Re: Public Access vs Club Access

As Tony has eluded to this issue and similar has been talked about before and end up with people claiming it is a move to force people to support NZ4WDA As for clubs being safer, a few yrs back I watched a club trespass into a block after they were told by a trust member of plans to start a 4wd park...

Re: V8 Land Rover project

That boils down to prep, you want a good clean painted surface, clean it with solvent first.. if your surface was wet you will trap water under the sheets, being rubber they will seal it there really well If you have rust and apply this you trap it there With this stuff you want to apply this so the...

Hmmm you might be wrong on that one crash, I'll do some reading tomorrow to confirm I understood that because the two uj's in a double carden are linked inside the carrier and in phase they stop all eleptical motion so you don't half angles you run the angle of the UJ at the other end at just enough...
