Repco have them, they just don't know it... In fairness to them, its not a very common item and if you hadn't pulled 4WD hubs apart before you'd probably not know what they were... Re: Which Bighorn or MU
All vehicles have bad habits - I figure the best thing to do is pick the one you like and make it capable and reliable. All the main MU bad points have been covered. Weakish CV's, shit alternator, hard to get the engines in and out. All things that can be overcome (solid axle and commy V6 :D). Steve

Re: Which Bighorn or MU
The alternators are a pig... they have a very bad reputation and it is well deserved (I have changed a couple, so I know... having left much of my own personal DNA in the ones I did). Tight and low, and a poor design that does not last. The commy option would be a good one as they are a high-output ...

Re: Which Bighorn or MU
They are thirsty, but otherwise reliable engine-wise... the auto's can give trouble and are a right bastard (as are the engines) to get out if needed... actually, Isuzu's one major downfall is the way they pack everything in. Awesome when they go, but a bugger to fix. If fuel costs are an issue, the...

One set of plates sitting on the shelf at the moment... you could use them to make your own (bit of fiddling about pulling the pins from your shackles and pressing them into the new plates - making a spacer/brace etc) PM me for details... Oh - and I found a set of spacers for Nissan front radius arm...

Re: A340/AW4 Auto Trans Controller
Would that work if you were in 'manual' mode, top gear and you braked almost to a standstill... if the manual lockup was reactivated automatically in that situation what would happen then? I'm certainly no whizz on autos, but that seems like a bad idea. Maybe an easily accessible lockup button with ...

If its the same as a 1JZ, virtually nothing. I'm pretty sure I didn't touch the wiring although I did read that some auto ECU's have feedback from the auto and tune the engine based on a combination of things including what gear you are in, throttle position and engine RPM - on these ones apparently...

Yep Dave - you're right... any 8" 2-pinion diff (not an LSD diff, they require a different model)...
However it may be a moot point, as I think it might be sold already

Re: snapped engine mount bolts....
Can you get a right-angle drill in there? I've seen drill chuck attachments for angle grinders before - just a thought. Or is there a line of sight to get a very long drill bit in and have the drill outside of the body? Weld some steel rod to the end of the drill bit...

Re: terrano body lift
You can make a basic kit yourself. Use either alloy roundstock or UHMWPE (Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene) rod (50 or 60mm dia - make them near to or the same diameter as the rubberised mount the will sit on, not smaller but not too much bigger). Remove all the bolts along one side (they wi...

It depends on what model terrano you have - some of them were unibody construction (around mid-late 90's from memory?) and can't be body lifted.

Re: Rear Disk Brake conversion on cruiser
With the disc conversions I did on FF cruiser axles I had 1mm machined from each side of each new rotor as well as the inner hole machined out before fitting them, this stopped the too-wide issue. As Steve said tho, check the bleeding, they will probably need doing again. The bracket design I have f...

If I were you I'd get the rebuild kit and schedule a tear-down in the very near future... you wouldn't have pushed ALL the old dirty grease out - so whats still in there? and whats it doing to your internals?
