Again ask for the underwriters policy wording, read it cafefully. ask for first option of buy back if (written off ) just because its is yours as soon as you are paid out, you do not have first option of buying it. most insurers use a agent ie Turners for disposal of wreck, it will be de registered ...

driving around a tree or peg on an off camber, you can lower yourself down , and control the rate of decent.

i too will be travling across to do cape york, later next year.
will be hiring a camper unit from Maui.

I could only fit 60 metres of 12.5 Amsteel and my drum was 500 =250
It would fit more but the speed make it jump the drum.

Wider drum would not bunch so much on a long pull, as would run off drum at speed.

Amsteel from Tony at ultra ropes, used with hydro winch and was about one of the ropes that lasted, light trucks can use cheaper , lighter rope.
Heavy trucks need strong rope.

all those would insure with any company, ask for a copy of the policy wording, most policy are Market value at the time of loss, and i know as a fact the agreed pay out is subject to a valuation to support this. If you rebuild your truck, then a few months down the track it looks a bit more second h...
