BlakeNZ here on o.r.e has the trans from my 98 mistral if he is willing to sell it on....Was behind a black top eti engine.

If your rano has the center diff lock you will still need to use your transfer on it though.

yes all the r20 and r50 trans are inter changeable

thanks crash bandicoot!!! so it will bolt up and plug in without an issue?? can i use my transfer case and tourqe converter?? or shuld i use the qd32 stuff??.. sorry for the many questions but i only have 1 chance to get the right box, go up and swap it, then to drive it back to auckland and dont want to go up and find out somthing dont fit or work or to put it nicely im F#@KED .. thanks again

Use your transfer , replacement transmission , can use either bell housing use either torque converter. The qd32 flex plate is a different bolt pattern to the td27 (crankshaft).

All the diesel trans use the same shift solenoid banks. The only area that is different is the transfer case as there is two different options depending on if your truck is equipped with a viscous coupling or mechanical 50/50 split( traditional 2H/4H/4L....vs the later 2H/4H/4Hcl/4Lcl

Trans code is RE4R01A or a RE4R03a depending on spec.

You could also use an earlier spec trans d21 pathfinder etc if desperate...code RL4R01a but it may not work with your ecu properly so may only get 1,2,d and reverse. No o/d and no t/c lockup or over run clutch.

If it helps you will also find the same transmission in Mazda rx7 and MPV...nissan.pathfinder ,a32 cefiro,c33 Laurel ,r33 skylines , 240sx and non turbo 300zx
