Re: V8 blowen coiled LN106
So now Queenstown and Timaru WC completed and we have had a blast rolled twice in queenstown but managed to recover from one and finish the stage, the other resulted in an hour of motor work to get running again. Timaru was a surpurb event and most stages suited us well, we had a blast and som how managed to walk away with 2nd place which we are stoked with and a 3rd in the overall series which is great considering its our frist year competiting. here is some pics from Queenstown
Re: V8 blowen coiled LN106
Breakages for the year have been vast including Pto drive, driveshafts, cvs, steering arms, transmissions ect ect but with constitant modifications we seem to be getting on top of it, This weekend has been spent getting ready for NZ1 winch challenge in Manakau Pto was stripped cleaned and reassembeled, 2 new engine mounts, engine oil and filter, remount rear towhooks weld up a few small issues and then check all the other vital parts, steering, brakes, seatbelts ect but now i think we are about 99% ready to go.
Re: V8 blowen coiled LN106

Re: V8 blowen coiled LN106
Been awhile since my last post, have been doing plenty of trips including reefton a day into station creek and another day in Maruia on a cockys farm good fun then we competed in the NZ1 great weekend with a great bunch of people, no one knew we were coming as we had entered under alais names just for a laugh and some of the looks we got were priceless. in leadup to the event the hilux got a good going over including a replacement auto from a kzn185 surf im using this over the hybrid 1uz one i had previous and absolulty love it, front end was stripped with new front diff installed as the old one had a snapped arb pin this didnt last long as it got smashed on sunday, after now finally pulling it down its seems the the side bearing adjuster let go
and allowed the centre to float resulting in us finishing the stage in 2wd.
so now scrambelling parts togeather to get it back togeather. while its apart i am doing the wheel bearing grease nipple mod alothough it slightly different from Big's (keri's) mod as mine is on the inderpendent hubs pics show it better

hey how successful has the speedi sleeve been mate did you have a grooved spindle, did you try and fill the groove with anything first or just put the sleeve straight over it?

Yea they have been good did the front 2 years ago and still in good condition havent checked the rears but now i think about it i proberly should and also sort a grease nip for them aswel so will inform over the next 2 weeks, but i would recommend it to anyone who has damaged stub axels. For install i just clean the old surface up well and tap the speedi sleeve on as per the instructions.
