Heavy winching will melt those switches.
Just remember that the switch will only shit itself under loading... and thats exactly when you want reliability ah.
Nice hiding spot as well

Bugger... That was my post fitting fear, It is quite easy to access the back of the switch where I can join the cable on one post if it does blow mid recovery. but if that is waist deep in muddy water easy assess would still suc!
I am not worried about it destroying the switch as long as the power is permanent.. When I got it my thinking was they are used for race cars as main battery shut off so will easy handle starter motor, what I didn't consider until I completed the fitting was the time factor when under load, as a starter is heavy for a short time.. Winching tends to be more load & Long periods.. when I do the pre-tension I will keep a real close eye on the switch temp, still wont be quite the same as a full loaded recovery...

Nothing to exciting this weekend, just added some graphics
I was a bit cheeky & copied from some online photos was still quite the mission to get the art work cleaned up so I could make them..

Crazy busy time of the year, but still made some progress on the roof tray.

Comes in handy for bits like this.

So the roof rack is all sorted, Lights fitted & Wired. Took a slight diversion on the way home today, Hilux before me came out with a smashed rear window & dented tailgate. Porsche came out unscathed.

Looks very cool! Top marks for some good fab work with a basic workshop 8) & great work actually getting it muddy!

For a change I remembered to catch a few seconds footage while offroad. not the sort of off-roading we get to do often in NZ
its short & sweet but amazing I got any footage. & after this trip I didn't even have to wash the truck..
