Be good to get the bellhousing to suit your box, is the motor out of a 2wd Hilux or a jap Surf?, NZ new Hilux is teh one to get, chances are it will be a manual, and have the right belhousing.

alrighty, they had about for or 5 there, so ill ask, and he did say a few of them were manual, there were 2 options of eitha coiled motor or elec... which would be beter? he said alot more wiring involved with elec dizy..
and would i need the bellhousing off the manual box that it was out of?
engine mounts are same aswell :D too easy

Motor with coil packs is better than the dizzy one, yep get the belhousing off the manual one, might as well get him to chuck the gbox in as well, then ya get the clutch slave, fork, etc from the correct motor. Dizzy ones are generally from a jap surf, 92's onwards sorta thing, mine was from a NZ new 03 Hilux and has coil packs, makes it absolutely foolproof wiring, timing, and reliable as.... a really reliable thing

Don't know what the retail is on these engines dude.
I do know that when Jafa got his, it was an exceptionally good deal.

I do think for that sort of money that you could look at other options though. There is always the fitting issues that accompany any repower though, and if you are not fabbing the bits yourself, costs can blow way out of control.

these engines appeal to me, as they bolt up to existing mounts and g/b, little fab work is involved, straight swap, not having to deal with the price and fitting of adaptors
have just been pm'ed an offer to purchase a 3rz for 1k, with box
definatelt more appealing, so there are deals out there, and i would never pay that 2k

i think memory jafas 3rz when i wired it up was about 4 or 5 wire hook up all at ecu
so long as you unplug 2 plugs at ecu to engine and chop 3rd as far away from ecu you shold be all good

of all the electrical conversions ive done this was fastest and easyest one eva
if i did another 3rz id say it shold be up and running with in 2-3 hrs

Make sure you get all wiring engine to ecu, there isnt any reason for it to be cut at all, AFM,coils, the 3rd plug at ecu as long as possible b4 cut, you might even get fuel pump relay :D
If its from man gb 3 plug ecu, autos have 4 plugs

Well actually Steve at 4wd Fibreglass in Hamilton has already taken a mould off these ones, and is, or going to, sell the guards. I have a spare set from him already. Give him a ring on (07) 846 7815, and he'll be able to hook you up a pair
