Any Mitsi gurus here?

Post by altair »

Okay, have a 1994 L200 4WD, V6 5 speed manual. Love it. But it is incredibly low geared, so just wondering if there is a bolt in diffhead which will raise gearing a bit? Do they share running gear with that era Pajero? Or is it an across the board diff? It pulls 3000 at 100, main problem is 1st gear etc is so low. Just wondering if anyone has any info? Thanks all.

I don't see why pajero diff heads are any different only major would be to get the 4.6's from a non superselect pajero as the front diff in a superselect engages differently to the l200's I suspect you have 4.9's or (4.88 to be exact) 4.6's will drop your rpms to 2800ish at 100kph and so on

FYI pajero coil sprung so only internals interchangeable.

Have a look under the bonnet and see what the build plate says on the line trans axle. It'll say something like V5MT1 4.875.
SWB V6 Paj with one or two mods ;)
