GU factory diff locker in GQ

Post by 4x4rookie »

Hi

I've recently taken 2 GU axles and put them under a GQ
The rear GU has a factory locker, I have the solenoid set up from the GU donor vehicle.
Can I use the GQ vacuum line powered from the vacuum pump at the back of the alternator to run the locker ?
I would just put a T in the pipe going to the brake boost
I realise the GU was 12 volt and the GQ 24 volt so will run a step down to power the solenoids from the donor vehicle, just want to make sure I can use the existing vacuum to run the locker

cheers

is the factory locker engaged by vacuum, rather than pressure from a compressor?(eg ARB lockers)
