Updated info Manawatu Overnight Trip
Documentation for Interclub.
This sets out the guidelines for the Zone Interclub event hosted by the Manawatu 4
Wheel Drive club.
This is the first draft and shows options that may or may not appear in the final
document.
For prospective members of M4WDC, each day will count as 1 trip.
You are welcome to attend both days or either one, please ensure you sign the trip
sheet and if you need to leave early, make sure you tell your group leader. All normal
trip rules and guidelines apply.
We will be using PRS channel 9 for communications for the weekend. There are PRS
repeaters available on channels 1 & 8.
Land access fees where normally payable will be paid by M4WDC & Central Zone.
None of the activities this weekend should leave you with a severally damaged
vehicle, but the non shinney trip may scratch and if unlucky minor dents, no huge
drop offs or any other dangers.
The week end is centred around the Ashhurst Domain which has a camping area,
showers, toilets, BBQ area etc.
Powered sites
2 person $14 per night
Additional $7 per night
Child 5-15 $3 per night
Under 5 free
Non-powered sites
$5 per night per person
5-15 year old $3

With in the Ashhurst Domain is Café Domain with food, coffee and a bar.
2 Km ( shorter walk ) in the Village is Café Fusion.
Just down the road is a Chinese Fish & chip shop.
Also in Ashhurst is a RSA ( meals ???? ) and 2 hotels with accommodation ( at least
one of them.
2 grocery stores and a chemist, on the main road is a petrol station.
The Waterford is 14Kms north of Ashhurst and normally has a small band in on a
Saturday night, fully licensed bar and café.
Ashhurst in 16Kms from Palmerston North where you will find any number of café,
restaurants, bars hotels and motels.
Please note that some of these cafes are licensed but the M4WDC, Central Zone and
New Zealand Four Wheel Drive association do not encourage drinking and driving,
please act responsibly.

All these times are “near as” times, the idea of the weekend is to have some fun.

Meeting 1230 for 1300 departure from Ashhurst domain ( map )

There will be 2 choices for the afternoon, a shinney gymkhana type event and
something a little harder. Burtons track ( or Gordon Kearer, Hills Hills or river).
Burtons track is a private forestry block with high quality logging roads and over
grown tracks. Wet experienced and mud tyres, in the dry AT and first trip fine.
1800 Return to Ashhurst domain.
