Manukau Winch Challenge 2015

Postby themudman2 » Wed Jul 29, 2015 11:03 pm

Hi all,

Yes, it's on again. Manukau Winch Challenge 2015 will commence on Friday evening November 13 2015 and will complete on the following evening.
The event will be the same as our other events of the last few years. Friday night stages followed by a full Saturday competition allowing for a prize giving on Saturday night and travel home on Sunday.
Entry forms are available at www.manukau4wd.org.nz Click on 'Useful Links'.
Other documents will be available from that site soon.
Being a month later than usual, we hope the weather will be better and we will be able to utilise areas not used for some years.

Other information there as it comes to hand.

As of this evening we have a total of 13 North Island competitors and an indication of five from the South Island.
It seems we may be hosting the NZ1 event too which is basically all the same competitors but with an additional scoring system for prior nominated competitors from each island.
The committee have not yet decided what the competitor limit will be but we have historically limited it to 30 trucks.
Best to get your entry in sooner.

That'll make 13 in modified now (had one other this morning).
Wouldn't hurt to have some more in the other classes though. Especially Challenge.

If it's any use to anyone, my race trailer is going to Auckland via tokaroa, empty on Wednesday lunch time - short notice, and you need to get your truck back, but could transport a comp truck to Auckland, and probably find some where to store it, before competition.
Call 027 3546466, if you think you might be interested.

Hi guys,

I should be able to arrange for the club rope reels to be on hand should there be a need.

By the way, still a couple of spots left.

Hi all,

Entries are now closed.
I will however accept wait list entries. For these I need the full application form emailed to me but no money paid.
I will email all entrants a couple of days after full payment is due for their arrears.
Any entries which are not fully paid after that may be declined and thereby open an opportunity for someone on the wait list.
Sorry, it really is the best I can do.

Right now we have 35 entries. The most are in Modified Class with 16 entrants.
This year, along with new stages further down the farm we will re-include stages which were last used five years ago such as the rock steps and maybe the long swamp.
We moved away from that part of the farm several years ago due to weather issues. Hopefully we can get back there this year.
The signature "under the bridge" stage will be there for all except Manukau Class along with three other stages in that area.
As in the past, there will be six night stages for the Friday night. Each class will complete three.

That's it for now.

Thanks to Dave and other Organizers and the Marshells.
Good event and good stages, managed to do 6 of them in the 2 1/2 hrs that we were there for on Saturday afternoon. I guess better late than not at all :D
Probably could have done with a bit of rain to make some of the bits a bit more challenging, but then again the sun was nice.

Wondering if the full results are available with all of the individual stage time or points.

Cheers

Also wondering if there are any videos that were taken, haven't come across any on Youtube yet

Cheers
