Bighorn alternator upgrade.

Postby nivaman » Mon Nov 17, 2014 8:13 pm

UBS69 3.1 td auto.
What bigger amperage alternator will fit (plug n play)?, I have read about a 110 amp alternator from an Isuzu truck may fit but am unsure which one and if it would actually fit?.
Would the alternator from a Pajero fit or are the feet and the plug different?.

From factory the early bighorns had a 50 amp alternator and then the later ones had an 80 amp one. Might pay to check what yours has
The 80 amp is a good alternator. Have attached a photo of the 80 amp

I have a 60 amp and would ideally like some reserve capacity, hence why I asked about the Isuzu truck alternator.

What are you running to need more than 60 amps?

My truck is fully loaded with two thermo fans, light bar, winch, gauges etc. I do have dual batteries tho.

Matt.

You should def upgrade to the 80amp one then.
We don't fit the smaller ones anymore, just bang the bigger one on

Return to “Isuzu”
