Isuzu Bighorn 4JX1 3.0 Diesel Turbo.

Post by gnochodo »

Twice in the last four months I have been stranded in wilderness first, when diesel mixed with engine oil and last when cylinder head cracked, this time mixing radiator water with oil.

I have had enough of 4JX1 Isuzu Turbo Diesel engine and need an engine swop.

Any suggestions on Toyota, Mitsubishi or Nissan diesel engine that can replace the 4JX1?

the 4jx1 is a very misunderstood and slightly different motor.

It is for this reason that isuzu dropped it for something more conventional

Having said that they are very reliable and a good donk

the down side's is the average mechanic struggles with it and i need some one with interment knowledge to sort some things out.

you said diesel in the oil, well there are only two ways this can happen, from the low pressure rail under the rocker cover or the injectors themselfs

did you get this initial problem sorted, and what was the solution?

is the reverse happening, IE oil in the water? ether diesel or sump oil??
