That didn't take much abuse Good thing its a bolt on part
Re: Disco dumps steering knuckle - 'its not you, its me'
Yeah I've been trying to work out all day what the hell exactly happened....its almost as if he broke the tie rod (or tore the drivers side rod end out of it), putting the tyre at an awkward angle, and then the weight of the vehicle just decapitated the knuckle completely...
Surely that cant be a normal failure... those LR swivel housings are not exactly a light duty item.. I'm always reading about LR using stronger nodular iron housings this that and the other thing...

Looks like it broke the chrome ball off the swivel housing, on the outside of where it bolts onto the main axle housing
In the shot at the end i'm sure you can still see the ring of bolts and mounting flanges in place.
Busted king pin, yep ok, but that, WTF
That's right up there with some of the Dana failures you see the rock crawlers make happen

Good thing with the landy axle is a 14mm spanner and swap that axle out!
It must have been damaged already, surely? It broke too easily, not aggressive tyres or excess speed.

Its better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.

Love the light bar setup over the windscreen.
