Just the one. Ultra low profile spare is because one of my sidewalls was damaged so I'm short a tyre - and as my spare was only a 31 that means I only have 3 33s currently.

Some more gratuitous mud pics because Phraza's is too clean :)

Haha! I need to get mine muddy. Might head towards some mud this weekend and test the tyres out.

Yours looks awesome in that colour!

I have just finished making my own carrier for my TJ.I priced a ARB carrier and decided to make my own instead.I think if i totaled up how many hours it took and how many headaches i got sorting it out ,ARB may have been a cheaper option. A lift will be on the cards now to compensate for the extra weight i think.
Fen wrote:
Fen wrote:ARB bar didn't happen this week because the tyre carrier isn't here yet and it's a major to fit it without and then add it after apparently. Probably looking at the end of June now.

Finally got the ARB bar a tyre carrier on. Can't say I'm impressed. I dunno what I'll end up paying for it but for what I got and the 3 month plus wait it will be too much.

I used the TJ yesterday for the first time with it on. I was recovered backwards into a tree - not at speed, just a steady pull. I know that's not what the bar is designed for but it deformed enough to let the tailgate get slightly bent (and now it won't open) and the catch which wasn't great to start with is a pain in the backside now; stiff to open and hard to close. Not nearly as strong as I had expected.

The bar itself was damaged when it was unpacked; the end was bent in on the driver's side. It straightened out OK, but that's the bit that's meant to provide corner protection so it's pretty average that it bent in the first place.

Overall I wish I hadn't bothered as there are any number of things I'd rather have had for what it will end up costing.

Been a while since I've had a Jeep (over a year).
Bought this JK Rubicon, factory front and rear lockers, dis connect sway bars, roll cage, 73:1 lo 1st ratio (does about 5kmh 1st gear on redline), dana 44 front and rear. From what I've seen so far shes a fckn weapon. Only had it around red rocks and odlins road
It has a 2" lift and 35s, tyres rub at full articulation with the sway bars disconnected so may have to get a 1" body lift out of the states.

Funnily enough I was on the hunt for a 7.3 turbo diesel Ford F250, which I planned to mild lift/35s/winch/lockers etc, missed out on a bargain in October and didn't know how long one it would be til one popped up again at a price I could afford. So settled for the Wrangler, and ended up parking next to one on the ferry.

Gday, paid under 35k for it, yeah they are something different to a patrol or cruiser, or any other of the usual jappas, off the show room floor most likely the most capable 4wd available. Mines V6 6 spd manual which goes better than I thought, although it has been re geared. I would have liked a GQ 4.2 td manual, but try finding one for sale, and if there are any, a stock one would be close to what I paid for the Wrangler. I work in Aussie and the GQs and live axle front 100 Series go for under 20 grand. In fact work just bought two ex mining 70 series 2008 V8 utes (which are farking awesome) for AUD 18k and 22k, try buying one in NZ you'll be looking at least twice that.
