Pouto point

Postby spanky » Mon Jul 22, 2024 11:02 am

Me and a few mates did a trip up here last week, got to Glinks late afternoon, but with a low tide, drove down to the lighthouse, went another 5-6km and camped in the trees ,next day went back up to the lighthouse, and we all had a go,since i was in my standard gen 3 paj diesel,i waited for the big modded 80 series, the lifted on 33s gen one paj and the shhep shagger Hilux to have a go.much to my suprise i got almost to to top on my first go,dripped my tyres to 25psi,and then drove straight up,the two Toyota's didn't make it,and the gen one got up after about 300 goes, haha, then drove to Omamari, and off the beach to the Kai Iwi lakes, stayed there for three nights with more beach trips, one to the top,was a good time of year to do it, hardly any people and still warm, well compared to the central plateau where i live, gonna do another trip September before i get busy at work.ill post pics when i remember how.cheers Vaughan

This forum needs a "like" feature.

Kakahi is also a cool little spot.
