Hi guys

My 3tonne trolley jack has started spewing out oil when using it..can anyone in ChCh recommend someone to service or repair it?

It's a Powerbuilt jack and the first trouble it's given me in over 7 years.

Probably cheaper to buy a new one than to pay to get it fixed. If you can get the offending seal out you may get one from a seal shop or repco may have a kit.

Just had the same with mine, same brand. Got a replacement seal kit from repco, about $30.

Yeah it's leaking out of the little piston at the top so i'm assuming it's an O ring or something...running short of time to do stuff at the mo so thanks for the Mr jacks info, will drop it in there this week.

Same brand, same problem. Fixed twice under warranty and now failed again. I have broken a lot of power built tools and I am not an animal with my gear...

I agree, Mr Jacks is the place to go.

He fixed my power built jack under warranty, even though I didn't have receipts and told him it was too old to be under warranty. He could see that it hadn't done much work so fixed it for free.

Found that out today when I dropped in and saw him, good bloke.
He also works on the jacks and hoists at Katz in Kaiapoi and numerous others like house lifting firms.

He did my trolley jack on the spot, checked it out and replaced a copper washer plus an o ring, also gave it a grease and checked it over and test loaded it.

All for $30...can't complain about that.
