Hi, I have swapped a 22r motor into my originally 18r hilux. The old 18r dizzy is points and the 22r one is electronic, so I'm trying to track down an ignition module to get it sparking. Does anyone have one lying around somewhere, or know of a way to get it working?

The 22r is carby, and the 18r dizzy will not swap onto the 22r.

Not sure about the 22R as did a 4Y to 4YE swap. But google 'toyodiy parts' and look up the truck the engine came from, see if you can spot the missing bit, at a guess I'd say its just a coil transistor if it doesn't run an ECU, you can then copy the Toyota part number, and cross reference it on that same site. If your in luck it probably used on a lot of Toyotas from the same era, and you can got to a pickapart or similar and raid one off an old corolla or whatever for a few bucks
