equal too or higher then the radiator cap is prefered, but no,

eg.

commodores are lower then the radiator, falcons sit higher then the rad but are part of the pressure system, most jap cars run equal too

and im talking about the top of the bottle where the cap is, not the water level inside of it.

its a siphon push/pull effect so all you need to do is make sure there's enough coolant in the bottle irrespective of where its mounted :D

Been thinking about it.
Only issue i can think of is it may create a draw pressure when the fluid is being vacuumed back into the rad as the coolant cools down.
Use a solid suction hose as the link and this should stop it from getting flattened by vacuum

Expansion wise the fluid is getting pushed out under pressure so it will push it up down or any where the hose points
