alternator problems

hi all , having problems with the boys alternator...don't know if this is going to make sense but anyways...alt was seized, front wheel was not turning ..took it out got it all freed up mount it back up to bracket and it locks up again ...take it out it frees up and spins ....put it in the vice lite pressure where the bolt goes and it locks up ... :?: :?:
any thoughts ...its a 97 feroza

post a pic of it. sounds like ther a bit missing and when you tighten it it is twisting the casing. did you have it pulled to bits?

will try and post pic tomorrow...wasn't pulled apart... only sat it in bracket without bolt through it ..just strange.. prick of a thing to bolt back up just to pull out again :roll: cheers Ben

Sounds like the bolts that hold the alt together are loose allowing it to flex when you do up the bracket bolt. Should also be a bush in the alt bracket bolt hole (if that makes sense) so when you do up the main bolt it actually pulls up on the bracket/bush with little tension in the alt housing.

that was my thoughts odd if it never been pulled to bits. i thinkin that there a bush missing

pulled to pieces now :lol: .... couldnt find anything wrong so putting it in the shop during the week :oops:
