Re: Fishing spots west coast, auckland
walk out deep and drop a HEAVY pot and tie it to your truck, the surf moves it round good
Re: Fishing spots west coast, auckland
Oh yea sounds like a plan. Do you reckong a berley bomb off cornwallis wharf would work?

Has it got 4wd access? How bad is it? My dad mentioned something about anawata but said its where all the hardcore fishermen go.
Its about 10.50 high tide tonight whats the access like? Easy to get to in the dark?

Re: Fishing spots west coast, auckland
You can hit pretty big snaps and even kings off a lot of wharfs man. I've had kings on off the matakana isl wharf
Could get em with a bow
I never use Berley in the surf. Always hook into sharks. Could try the dry stuff maybe as the bombs always pulled in sharks we found.
I also wouldn't muck around piha rocks at night if you havn't been there in the day before. They are forever doing body recoveries in the area. Fishing goes off there though
Beach could be a goer but the water might till be a bit dirty from the last storm. Was on the west coast off rags yesterday.

Yea i heard the fishing is good lately but more on the east coast.
Was a good night for fishing minus the moon. Too bad the fish were nowhere in sight and we only managed to bring in eels
